Well, I have had some sleep and unpacked my case so now it is time to say some thanks.

Laurin and Dave: thank you so much for arranging this workshop. I have learned so much from you both and come home a richer person for the experience. It has been an honour and a privilege.

Mike: thank you for sharing your knowledge so patiently. Without your calm direction, I would have missed many photographic opportunities and experiences. Your future students will be very lucky to be under your tutelage.

Isabel and Marlene: my room-mates - what can I say? We have laughed a lot and cried a bit and I miss you both so much already. I was a bit worried about travelling half way round the world and sharing in with total strangers but strangers quickly became friends and I will value that friendship long into the future.

Rob: our road trip companion and driver. Thank you for organising such an amazing itinerary and for being a such a fun and easy-going driver, guide and friend. It was both fun travelling with you but also wonderful to feel so secure in your hands - I had a blast!

Katrina: star trails! What a photographic life experience! I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and taking the time to explain everything to the little voice in the dark! I received the instruction email and I am busy downloading the files to try and piece the final image together - watch this space.......!

Murray: thank you for your care and consideration. You noticed when others were struggling a bit and quickly stepped in to offer assistance, whether it was taking over driving or providing iced drinks and chilled flannels to the overheated, your awareness of those around you meant that you jumped in to provide support without the need to ask. A wonderful trait that was appreciated on numerous occasions.

Lorraine: fellow Canon user! Thank you for all the practical assistance you provided when I was struggling to find my way around the controls - particularly in the dark!

Susan: thank you for all the photoshop tips. I came home with some really useful short-cuts to make my post processing a much quicker and easier task. I will try to put them to use before I forget them!

Ken: my night-time companion in the sand dunes! (I promise not to tell your wife)! I wish you and your wife all the best with your sponsorship projects and truly look forward to meeting up with you again some time.

Ami, Judy, Jeff: our paths didn't cross quite so much but your friendliness shone through. As a rule, it is always going to be potentially difficult to group 15 people together and not have a personality clash of some sort -this workshop was the exception that proved the rule!

Laurin and Dave please put me at the top of your list for the next workshop, whenever and wherever it may be - I will be there :)

Once again, my thanks to you all and there is a standing invitation for any of you wanting to visit the UK. I'm off to finish downloading and get started on uploading some images!

Thank you Jane very much. You were an absolute joy to have at the workshop. Thank you for putting up with our questions about the English language and how different they are from here in American and in England. I will never forget fizzies LOL

Laurin and I are already developing ideas for the next workshop which will most likely be somewhere in the eastern part of the US. We are hoping to have it sometime in the fall. We will make sure we notify you for all our future workshops.

Thank you again for attending, it was our pleasure to have you.

Jane,
Your welcome. Talk about photographic opportunities, I would have missed the amazing view at the Goosenecks through the rocks if it was not for you!

Ken that second image of the ruins is spectacular! Remember how it looked when we were there . . . it didn't look like that. (Long exposures are your friends)

Marlene, Love the slot shot and the stars. Very good work. heres our waitress again.

So lets see if I get this right. You walk into a hotel with a bunch of photographers. You find a lady at the reception and you ask her: "would you mind posing for me and my class to do some portrait shots?" Lady says:"well yes of course I will do that for you, no worries". Laurin:" Good sport, I will email you some of the results in return". Lady" Ow wow, great, thanks so much"

You do the shoot, you process the photos, mail them to the reception lady. She thinks, wow amazing photos. She googles your name, and then realizes she now actually has orignal portrait photos of the great Laurin Rinder for free. LOL, thats awesome, I would have loved to see the look on her face when she found out who you were.

Thats about it. And she got paid. The lesson was how to do acceptable portraits with Basically no equipment.
I can get get just about anyone to model. Models are everywhere.

Awesome images everyone. This sort of trip is on my list of to do's. Hopefully sooner than later. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously. Ironically, I was down in that area last year. Had I known about the trip I might have postponed my plans (although work is awfully busy right now so I probably wouldn't have mad eit anyways).

Again, congrats to all. No doubt the benefits of this one will be huge in your future.

Love the horses. As Laurin mentioned, I'll bet there will be pile of sales on that one.

Just had my first download of a workshop photo. Now I just need about 200 more of them to cover the cost of the trip.

Ken thanks for posting those Forrest Gump shot captures.

Katrina, those star trail shots are awesome...I am now kicking myself for not staying longer and shooting the north trails as well.
