The new dates and Phoenix are a $300-$450 savings depending on departing airport.

You know I will. we have 9 months.Im waiting on 2 special people as we speak.I would think about car rentals in Kayenta. it's a very small airport. You can drive through kayenta in about 5 Minutes.been doing these a long time. Im on it.Everyone previous has come in through Flagstaff, Theres some very cool stuff on the way in.That whole area for 400 Miles either way has got it all.The list is endless and you could easily spend 3 months. I've been to all of them.
Coral sand dunes
Brice
Antelope
Hootoos
Page,and lake Powell canyons
Slot canyons
Grand canyon
Mystery valley
Arches
Canyon de chelly
And at least a 100 others.

Lots of Info ahead.

I love your enthusiasm.!!!!! very spiritual area of America.

I was going to fly into Flagstaff but given the much cheaper fares, I'm very tempted to fly into Phoenix from Cincy or Dayton. Not a fan of driving long distances, but $$ saved would be nice.

I'll wait for your updates as well Laurin before booking the hotel and flights. Very excited about this trip and my first photography expedition/education :)

Freeway all the way from Phoenix to Flagstaff. Easy drive. And some great scenery on the way ... cliff dwelling ruins and of course Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon is breath taking. Small side trip to Jerome, combination of Indian ruins and old mining town.

Like Laurin says, so much to see you can't do it all.

Laurin hated the drive up to the Vermillion Cliffs. It is a fun drive (for me) but up the winding roads with sheer drop offs kinda gives Laurin that #10 pucker factor LOL

I remember when I took him through the Dragon's Tail Road in North Carolina. He almost got religion. Where he did get religion was when I was driving out of Yosemite along the Tioga road during a snow storm. God that was fun! LOL
