Kelly if they are the real thing, they can be very useful. Put some straw in them in the winter and guaranteed your feet stay dry and warm.
Sorry about your DL's. DL's are the only reason why we put up with all the bugs and non-responsiveness of SS, but if there are no DL's anymore.......
I had a DL on CST. Yes, a whole one. Amazing |

I am sure that Laurin, Jeff, and Mike will be delighted when they find out LOL |
Jeff is one hour flight from here, and Laurin and Mike are a two hour flight ;-)
No doubt you could build a scaled-down windmill in your yard to make you feel at home. Am curious, though, how do wooden shoes do with riding a bike?? |
A windmill and some plastic faded pink flamingos. That will do it LOL. Can it get any tackier? (no offense if you happen to have one or both)Besides, I thought that the rain was supposed to make me feel at home.
Riding a bike with wooden shoes is easy. Regular bikes have flat pedals. People do everything (almost everything.... and even that they might) on and with their bikes. It is amazing really (really it is) |
Tacky???? I think our plastic giant windmill and flamingos go nicely in the tulip garden out front. We'll be adding a life-sized plastic gorilla soon to hide in the bushes near the front door-----you know, to scare away solicitors.
I figured you must be good at bicycling with wooden shoes, being the clever Dutchman you are. We were given one pair as kids to share three ways from a relative who visited Holland. I absolutely adored them, even though they weren't very comfortable. My guess is that they were souvineer quality (pardon the spelling----don't know how to use spellcheck on the iPad) |

Candiie - a gorilla will not keep the solicitors away, but one of those rocks that makes the sound of a barking dog might. (does that even exist?)
I was born on a bicycle. ( without wooden shoes though) Another reason I like Portland
It is souvenir and your IPad should pick that up automatically. It does it on mine. I don't think there is a separate spell checker for the iPad. If it missed a word or the word is not what you meant, you can hold your finger on the misspelled word. This word will turn red and will give you some suggestions.
Wendy - my wife and I have been talking about moving to the Pacific North West for a long time and with some luck, it might finally happen
Isn't tomorrow the big day? Best of luck. We will think about you and your husband |

Of course. I forgot for a minute that you are ahead. Better start thinking about you and husband now then I guess. :) I am sure you two will be fine, but it is still a big thing. I don't know what :s means. ( I am stupid in those things)
I am happy for you that your son flew in. Obviously he loves his parents a lot. |

Ah, thanks Rudy, I'll try holding my finger on a word to get spell checker to work. It does have an autocorrect for when I miss the space bar and run two words together, etc., which is handy at times and then at other times it wants to change a word to another that I don't want. LOL---it takes a foreigner to help me with spelling!!
In case you get here and miss Florida, the Sky Mall magazine also offered giant plastic gators (along with the gorillas, giraffes, and tigers) for the garden ;-)
Back in the 80s when I lived in the Chino area of Calif., I remember seeing the Dutch dairy farmers wearing their wooden shoes while working. Very cool.
I look forward to meeting Billie Jo, thanks. |

Rudy my other boy has taken today off too, they both do love their parents a lot and I appreciate them very much at times like this.
:S depending on the context can mean confused, bemused, uncertain etc .. for me at this time was to show my uncertainty for today, I will be glad when it is all over and he has the all clear! |

Candie - Weren't you the one who made a big thing about spelling? Lol ( a vs an comes to mind)
Dutch farmers wearing wooden shoes in the eighties? They were nuts. Don't they know there is much better footwear? Even in the eighties. Lol
I just have to get myself one of those plastic gators.
Wendy again, best of luck. Your husband is in good hands. Be strong! |
