Oops, sorry, Hi Wendy, I'm happy to hear that too! :)

You should (not) see what my poodles are doing to "poo poo" the big teddy bear. :/ Time to put him up.

Kel - I've never seen as many of the Red Admirals as I have this year - they were everywhere!! Alas, I don't think I have a single good enough pic :( They're too flighty.

All black female baby kitteh, maybe 8/9 weeks or so? - eyes have started to turn colors from blue.

Like I said, I was going to get more kittehs, the plan was to get a mama kitteh with two babies...
They had SEVERAL there I could have chosen from.

However, when we stepped in the kitteh room the little black one started raising cane, there was absolutely no way I could have left her behind - she made sure she got noticed and loved on. So, she picked me, Big Time.

Now she's all over the keyboard making it very ha69d 229o typ... as you may be able to .tell..... LOL!!!

She follows me everywhere in the house and screams at me if I'm not responding...

The thunderstorm missed us again last night. :|
However, we have new ones bearing on as I type... gotz to go!!

i hope my foxes - abe and hillary - are still around.
meanwhile in kathmandu, the hours slowly pass before the hong kong flight and then the joy of homeboy security back in the usa. one of these days i will just wear flip flops a net shirt and speedo.
but first a few images. there is a walk of fame here at the KGH, first on the star walk are "the beetles."
but weren't they the beatles? same same? john, paul, george and ringo? beetles it says.
not that i'm really to excited to take on the mass of tamel, a few sample stories of the neighborhood didn't exactly make me want to grab a rig and go shoot. "oh, there's everything out there, human trafficking, child prostitutes, drugs," the british woman who works with jailed nepali women said all too casually. "eeeeeewwwwww." i said. "i think i'll go watch the cricket on espn."

Lookie there, I can log on here from work - finally :O

Susan - yes, black kitties are awesome. I've had some blacks and black and whites and they're loud, demanding and loving...LOL

This morning (err... it really wasn't morning at 2am, but hey...) when I got up she followed me like a pup. And screamed at me: "Hey! I'm Here! Love on me!"

I don't think she'll let my husband sleep for the rest of the morning.... :| LOL!

Robert - your new flying outfit plan sounds quite minimal... I always freeze on flights, so it sure wouldn't work for me...LOL

Lovely butterfly, I hope you manage to shoot one.

Sari, the kitteh sounds like it picked you! Nice one! I hope you get some wet stuff out of the thunder bumper.

Thanks Susan :-) it was good to see some dl action I have to admit.

Kelly I am glad you translated what "poo poo" is ... my mind was going a hundred miles an hour lol.

Mav take care coming back, your travel outfit does sound a bit lacking lol. The gloves would be a nice touch though!

Hi Wendy, and good morning to the rest of you.

Hubby was awakened by a strange screaming sound close by last night, it might have been that fisher cat. :/
I was awakened early this morning by seagulls getting into the garbage across the road. >:/

Mr. pheasant was standing on the fence again this morning, I got pics.

only me. so, in an effort to get a refund on a flight that never got off the ground in lukla, i went with my partner on a rickshaw ride around kathmandu. figuring i might get a shot or two from the safe confine of the back seat, i was snapping traffic madness kind of shots, more for something to do than for the shots. first, we go entirely the wrong way. which necessitates a return trip, stopping us at a huge intersection bordering the US Embassay. the traffic cops were very cool, so i shot some portraits of them. the rickshaw gets the go ahead and we pedal on. only to be waved over by a gun toting helmet headed kid asking about my camera.
'no photos.' he said.
'i didn't take any photos.' i said.
'let me see.'
so i show him the traffic cop shots.
'there. that one. that is US Embassay. Come with me.'
WTF?
so i get detained, by nepali's working for US, in a room where they want to get my info - creative writing exercise - and photos of both me and my camera, plus the serial number.
meanwhile i had deleted a bunch of images since they didn't mean anything to me, making the guy detaining me sadly nervous by my generous agreement to delete them all if you like.
'no, no, not necessary.'
'look man, i vote with my dollar. and i'm never going to vote any more in this country. america is f'd up enough as it is, but this is ridiculous. i took a photo of a traffic cop. but more to the point, i sat with the king of lo-manthang 6 days ago who encouraged me to put on an exhibition of my images and to promote visitors to your country. well, amigo, that show is cancelled.'
he sat there sad eyed, silent.
'i'm leaving tonight in 5 hours, and never voting another dollar here.'
they let me go pronto.
i wasn't on the street 5 minutes when a taxi hit a motorcycle crashing through the median. got some good shots of that...
