Hi guys,

As in the title this thing usually happen. Oftern than before!
My latest jpg batch of 14 jpgs has been approved friday and today sunday it's still not visible in my portfolio, neither in my contributor page. Only if you go in accepted images you can see approved ones.
obviously there are no sales for that batch...

My concern are always related to the concept that when images will be availables they'll be pages far from the newest approved and with the possible consequence of lost them in the flow!!

Personally I don't care so much abou this for jpgs... but today I've submitted all related vector stuff and vector are "precious" so lost an entire beautiful batch in the flow would be bad! I really hope that once approved it will show immedialely.

Have you got similar experience??

SS is having some major problems and I would advice you to not upload any new material until the storm blows over. It's a shame for all the work we've put in it, though.

many contributors have similar problems. it appears there's a bug in the system. also if you try to search for images and check photo or vector box images are missing from search engine. at least i have that problem. so again, it seams something went wrong. the worst time for bugs. :(

Actually, there are 2 bugs:
One which makes new images disappear - they're not correctly searchable at the beginning (keywords missing and such) and then may completely disappear both from the search and your port after a couple of days.
Plus another one, which IMHO is even *much* worse, which has completely ruined the "most popular" search.
My (at least) 18 best selling images are *completely* buried at the moment (say: Noone finds them anymore. They've gone down from being the first result on the search terms I've used to literally nowhere.) and my sales are down to less than 2/3 of what I'd usually sell. Other people reporting the same. This time, of all things, the top selling images seem to be concerned.
I noticed dropping sales about one week ago and things are getting worse and worse. It isn't about the lost sales anyways - I can stand that -, but about everyone's most successful imagery going down the drain, because it loses its rank within the search. I'm pi**ed, really. This is about to ruin more than three years of hard work.

it seams they have fixed the bug in search engine when photo or vector boxes are checked. my new images are now visible (of course they are on 7th page or further down) under new images. :(
i don't know about other bugs as i didn't have missing images.

anja i truly believe that if they fix the "most popular" bug thing your images will not vanish as they really have high rating. and if they drop to first few pages of most popular i believe they will find their way up again. but the question is when will "most popular" bug and how it will be fixed. this seams to me like major crash although i am not a programmer.

Hi Anja,

The first bug already happen here months ago. To be honest it happen every 5-7 weeks.
I saw that new images that disappear then have low chance to sell good... so if this bug happen with a new batch of vector and I can't see it in 1 day I'm usually going to delete it and reupload it. There's no sense to lose sales for new vector that are simply the resul of hard work.

About the second bug it sounds totally new for me. The past week was my best week ever, never had so many daily record. Reading you concern regard the second bug I went to my sales schedule to check how are sales of my storic best sellers and I have to admit that you're righ: best sellers are selling a little less then usual, but I have a big number of images in my portfolio and the number of sigle sales for older images has increased so the average of download is higher. Also I've seen many downloads on other images that usually do not so good. I hope that sales will turn to normal for you also with the help of your new images (after the bug 1 fix obviously).

Anyway I've just wrote to SS but I suppose that everyone does so I'm not expecting a fast answer but I really hope that they fix the bug.

Hi David!

Yep, I already knew the first bug as well, I also had new images disappearing a couple of weeks ago, but was hoping this had been fixed.
The second one is much worse for me, tho.
The two weeks *before* the bug appeared have been terrific (one of them my best week ever, a new best day ever included), but now my stats are straightly going downwards. I guess, you're right, my port is relatively small, therefor it might be affected in a stronger way than your huge one. Plus, just my top sellers are concerned, which actually make up for most of my income. I'm *really* sad and frightened - esp. because this takes so long.
I've also written to support, but don't expect a response in time. Wait and see ...
Looks like kind of an "if you fly high, you will fall deep" thing, somehow. Reminds me of focussing more on things *outside* of this business. ;)

Hi Anja,

I'm still unable to see my jpg batch approved friday... 3,5 days of delay...images are lost in the flow... doesn't matter so much for jpgs, but I really hope that they fix it before my vectors submitterd yesterday were approved.
I've wrote to support this mornig and they gave me a fast answer : " they're a working hard to fix this delay bug... do not sell other emails... do not need to delete images etc..." .
So they're working... hope it will be fixed soon..
About the second bug... I'm a little confused on how recognize it... As I said before my best seller vintage labels and web elements and rainbow business cards sold a low number as usual..so you're right... but the number of single image downloads (in certain cases also 2 downloads per image) has increased..so the overall result for me is a similar/better growing sales trend...
I hope that (when the bug 1 has been fixed) your new images sell much better than before and push your old best seller sales so maybe, with some lucky, you can return to your average earnings. ;-D :-D
Do not desperate, you're a master designer here... you'll be always in top positions :-D

My images were lost for one week after approval (not showing in my portfolio, zero downloads, nothing...). I wrote on submit@shutterstock.com and I got this answer:

Hello Vladimir,

Thank you for contacting us about the issue with your approved images.

We are aware that some of your images are missing, and our tech department is
hard at work correcting the issue.

Please Note: There is no need to remove, delete and resubmit these images. We
expect every image to be available on our site very soon. There is also no
need to contact us further about this issue.

We apologize for this glitch and are very sorry for any inconvenience it may
have caused. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,

...

Nothing special.. :) Lost images are now online in my portfolio but still have 0 downloads.. and they have no similar images links when I open them.

You're right, David, usually I can't complain and somehow it's even kind of "impolite" to do that. I'll stop whining right now, promised!
Sooner or later things will work again for sure.
Thanks for listening, noneoftheless! :)

Has anyone noticed if this bug affects vectors and JPGs or just JPGs? I haven't uploaded any JPGs in a while and only noticed a slight delay yesterday with some vectors showing up in my port after approval.

Does it seem like JPGs are more prone to this problem?

I've submitted some vectors on sunday ... When approved I 'll let you know if they will be visible immediately...
