You must post properly for a good critique, but none of these will do. All have lighting, composition and focus issues. And the flowers are all but DEAD. And no flowers for first ten. Take a look at what is at Shutterstock under "flowers", and yours would have to be BETTER.

+2.If your gonna do flowers, They must be dramatic and most of all the best specimens you can get, All of yours are past there prime. Lighting is very poor along with composition.Heres my best selling Flower. Also the B&W was accepted yesterday and is one of my all time best selling Fine art Prints. Both in Studio.

Both really nice, Laurin. Funny though, I think if I had those two I'd probably say composition issues because of cropping significant parts of both flowers.

You've really got to master the rules before you can go about breaking them successfully:-)

Day will come for me...

Im sure you will.Don't ever factor out "The art of Photography"Stock is not a big part of that. The reason we say Don't crop off parts is a stock thing For buyers to do what they want. I've always done what looks best to me, It's all about geometry, Shapes and shadows defining contrast .Creme rose is in the high 1400's now.And the other has aready Paid me enough years ago.Whatever it makes is gravy.

Andy, While Im waiting for the OP to come back and say How harsh I was.....LOL. Your not here long enough to know yet but a lot of us have shots like this cotton Ball, Absolutely one of the dumbest Snapshots I've ever done. On a trip with Dave. we passed a cotton field. I pulled over, picked this up,held it up to the sky and took a shot with my other hand.I knew it would sell a few because no one else had one, All everyone had were beautiful Cotton fields with amazing skies and such. We all have one or 2 that Mystified us how well they did. This stupid Image probably pays my health insurance or close to it and has for 5 years. You'll get one of these that out of the blue that just takes off. Lesson??? send everything because we have no clue what will be popular.

The others have covered the issues with your shots but I want to go a bit deeper into on of the reasons and that is the composition.

What you have done is a common mistake made by very many people and that is to place the object of the shot in the center of the frame. This makes the shot very static and looking very much like a snapshot.

Learn when it is advisable to use the "rule of thirds." It is a composition method that goes back to the days of the master painters. It will give the image a certain flow and in the case of stock will also give some room for the buyer to add text if needed.

Here is a video that Laurin and I did regarding the rule of thirds that I hope is helpful.

"I do fashion and editorial work"
I checked out your site. Some nice shots . However if your models looked in as poor condition as your flowers you would sell no shots of them. Despite the fact that you may think this is sort of below you the standard is very high. The aim is to get shots that get you in first and sell when they are up.

If I thought this was below me, I wouldnt have come to the forum to find tips and critiques in the first place. I know I HAVE NO CLUE as to how to shoot anything other than people, and that the few pics Ive taken of objects so far would not get picked. I am looking to get started on it, and I know I have what it takes to make a good picture, I just need to read, share, investigate, shoot and learn how to photographed inanimated subjects.

Ok. So you do fashion work and have some very nice work. Why shoot flowers? People shots do well. Flowers are generally a no go for the first ten anyway. Put some people shots up and some recent work and I am sure you will go ok. Stock is about selling product or using it to display in articles/ web pages etc. Generally images must be in high technical quality and flowers/produce etc in prime condition.
