I must have a sign on my head that sais..."tell me all about it".
-my dad calls me every day to bitch about his problems with his wife (I tell him get a new one)
-his wife calls me to bitch about my dad (I tell her to get a new one)
-my mom bitches to me about the real estate market and politics (I tell her to change sides)
-my wife bitches to me about her job (I tell her to get a new one)
-my boss bitches to me about the guy he wishes he did not hire to fill the position (I tell him to get a new guy)
-my co-workers bitch to me about rising gas costs (I tell them to drive less)
I listen to everyone's problems but no one listens to my solutions. I think from the general consensus people are unhappy and just deal with it. They like to let everyone else know about their unhappiness rather than fixing their problems and telling everyone about how great their life is. When I tell someone about something good that has or will happen to me they kind of play it off and get right back to more problems with them. if anyone has some good news please feel free to share it here with me, I'd love to hear it. |

On Sunday 18th March I wil have quit smoking for six months. Also, I found my toenail clippers under the bed this morning and will be able to clip some rhino-horn looking whoppers off my feet at last. Must remember to pick up the clippings though as the other half gets upset when she treads on them. |

I think the best thing to do when the whole world is giving you trouble, is to write a country song about it. (Which I still won't listen to.) |

Good news is that i passed test for going to work on cruise ship :)

Congrats! You must be a great listener!
And along the lines of some of the responses, this falls into that "I don't want you to solve my problem, I just want you to listen and sympathize." Really, unless people are asking for help ...
Oh wait! Now I'm doing it! I'm trying to solve YOUR problem! I fell for it.

I found a flashlight I lost months ago. It was stuck in the sofa. We tore the sofa apart looking for my wife's cell phone. No phone, but I got my flashlight back!! Still looking for the cellphone, oops sorry that part is bad news I guess. Never mind, just go with the flashlight part. |
