I see you are new on SS. I must ask some questions.
- Yes red (sorry i dunno your name) i am new here.
Do you have fast review times ?
- Yes i have fast reviews other than few times. The ratio b/w fast:moderate:slow/late = 50%:30%:20
My last batch was reviewed within 1 day and came to my port immediately
Do your newly approved images show up in your port fast ?
-Yes. absolutely. just 2-3 batches took time to appear. and 1 batch still missing. But rest all batches came immediately into my port and search.
Do you ever get a 502 gateway error uploading ?
- never
Do newly approved batches go missing for days at a time ?
- Yes 4 times.2 time it was missing. I contacted support and it appeared within 1 days. 3rd time it took 2 days and it appear before support replied me. now 4th time my files are still missing after 5 days. They got accepted on 04-04-2012 and neither support has replied me back nor have they come to my port/search. I think i may get support's reply today.
ps- but once my images have come to my port they did not disappeared till date

I think exclusivity is a really bad thing for contributors as a whole and in the long run. The more exclusive contributors an agency gets, the less resistance it will face to changes which may be unfavorable for contributors. Look at IS, they got so many exclusive contributors, that they didn't hesitate to drop royalties for non-exclusive contributors which was already measly, to down right insulting. Would ss drop royalties/rates now? I don't think so. Would ss drop royalties if they had a large amount of exclusive contributors? I'm not saying they would, but if they wanted to it would be much easier for them to do so.
Why on earth would contributors want to put that kind of leverage in the hands on an agency is beyond me. ss might be a good place now, but you never know what the future holds. I really hope that there is no exclusivity option in the future. And as for exclusive files, this would be great, I'm sure many of us have exclusive files here already, to varying degrees. But ss has almost 20 million files now. If suddenly a few million of those were set as exclusive images by contributors, not to mention all the subsequent images submitted as exclusive images, ss would have to put a note beside each of these images on the lines of "this file has been declared an exclusive image by the contributor, we haven't checked this", because they couldn't, IMO. |

Exactly. Exclusivity is a horrible idea. |

-------I agree what you say but I am NOT supporting any exclusivity (specially complete exclusivity like IS).I posted this thread because I was just curious that why ss does not offer exclusivity. I thought that experienced members could tell me the answer and i simply got my answer from the thread link given by Barry.
and as thread continued i expressed my own wish

sorry? , i did not get you here?
"this file has been declared an exclusive image by the contributor, we haven't checked this",
Do you mean the files which are exclusive somewhere, the agency checks all the files if they are provided to them only or not?
anyways as far as i know exclusivity/any agency specific programe (like the one for sensitive uses is SS right now) is always optional for example- to become exclusive or becoming a part of an agency. and if you ask me then i may want to see this in future (again its my personal opinion, Of course everyone's need and circumstances may differ and so does mine.) |
