Hi all,

I did a shoot the other day and got some shots of a woman's breast expressing breast milk. There are NO photos like it in SS...not ONE! So I would like to submit them but I don't know if I need to check off the "contains nudity" box. I mean, it is a breast (In a breastfeeding bra) which shows a drop of mild being expressed from the nipple by hand...but it is clearly for medical text books or other informative-like distribution.

If I check off the nudity box will it not be available in the general search? Does it restrict the image in any way?

thanks for your replies,
Tanis

It will be available for viewing when viewers click off the 'Nudity' mode. Same when you view your port. Yes, you need to check off the nudity box, otherwise, you may receive a warning from SS if you upload it

Okay then.... do buyers know about this option to click "safe" content?

The one image that is on SS that comes close to the ones I shot is not considered to contain nudity and comes up in the search for breast pump. In that image, the woman's nipple is covered by the breast pump but is still visible because the pump shield is opaque.

I just want to make sure my images will be found and seen!

Here is my image so you can see what my concerns are...

EDITED to remove the nudity, see censored image below (the breast nipple has a drop of milk expressed from it, for those who are curious) ....

I found this on the site

"Any image of an identifiable person must be accompanied by a model release. Model releases are available on our site and must be submitted digitally; we do not accept faxed, mailed, or any hard copy releases. For submissions containing nude content of artistic value, the model must look at least 25 years of age and the submission must be accompanied by a photo ID of the model. The decision to accept or reject an image containing nudity will be made according to the sole discretion of Shutterstock. Never submit any explicit material. Submissions must not contain violence, x-rated content, or any illegal content according to US law"

It mentions artistic nudity. I cant find anything on nudity for science purposes.

Well then, I guess I will just submit it and see what happens... and I will check off the 'contains nudity' box. I just hope that, if it gets accepted, it gets seen by a buyer who needs it!

I think a buyer looking for such images will untick he safety filter to see all content. You might have a winner there, because its a rare image. Well done.

No nudity in the forums... suggest you remove it before you get a warning.

Based on popular usage, it is 1.306 times more common for Tannis to be a girl's name.

According to babynames.com, it comes from the Greek Tanith and means Goddess Of Love (There might be some overlap here between the two meanings lol)

Quite the digression from the original post, don't you think boys?

My name is Tanis, I AM female and it is a self-portrait.

I have been told that my name means many different things by many different people... my mother, on the other hand, simply ran out of girl names, as I was the 7th and last daughter born! (Yes, 7 girls, no boys and only 1 bathroom!!!)

My 'censored' version seems to allude to more than the original image was intended, (since you cannot see that it is a breast expressing milk), so I have deleted it as well. It looks too suggestive the way it is! I hope I did not offend anyone, as it was not my intention.

I'll update this thread if SS accepts my images of this nature ;)

Oh Geeze! I submitted all my images and had to resubmit them again with an updated model release!!! I was too excited and rushed the upload process!

I guess it will be another week before I find out if they will be good to go or not! I will keep you posted....
