I uploaded this picture in december and surprisingly it has very quickly become my best selling image here on shutterstock.

I can only imagine that as a picture of London it has something to do with the Olympics being held here later this year, however I am still surprised by its success.
Which picture of yours has surprised you with its success ??

Well, I generally don't sell too many, since my port is neither big nor fashionable nor really great (still a beginner). This image was rejected twice, then accepted and is one of my best sellers (if not THE best). Just a road winding out of some barren hills with green stuff in the background and more dull sand and rocks in the foreground. Weather was bad, too. Most used search term is "desert". Maybe it's the combination of a "civilized" paved road and a Mars-like landscape that appeals...?
Best regards,
Christian

I was shocked when this photo got its first dl and now it is in the top spot when you search 'waxy leaves'. (out of only 3 pages, mind you, but still, I will take it!)
The second one also sells very well and the two are often dls together! Go figure... I really think the second one is such a strange comp but hey, it sells!

I think I just got lucky with this one. Without realizing it, I uploaded it at the start of the Greek monetary crisis. That's the only reason I can come up with as to why it has been selling well. For those who don't know what this is, it's an Athenian Greek coin from around 566 BC.
One I haven;t figured out yet is this image of WWII war ration books. These were actually mine back in Ft. Devens, Mass during the war. For whatever reason, they seem to be doing well on all sites where they are up.
