These three were rejected for composition among a few other. Not the strongest images but would appreciate some critical comments about them. The first looks soft, so surprised this wasnt the reason given

For the first one I would say that it is cropped a bit tight at the top. You have a little section of the tower in the left side cut off. Many shots like this when used in an ad would most likely have copy put on the top portion of the shot. With this there is little space for that.
For the fountain one the level of it looks all kaddy wampus. I can't tell if it is just the tower part that is leaning or if the whole shot is leaning due to an uneven horizon. Architectural photography often causes problems like this unless you are using a tilt/shift lens to control the perspective.
For the last shot the base line of the shot has problems because the windows are cut in half. It would be better if more of those front buildings were shown. If you are trying to show roof lines then you need a higher position where multiple roofs can be see throughout the image. The whole shot gives a look of being cropped too tightly.

I agree with Dave you are cropping too tight and #2 buildings in the background are leaning
Last one has little commercial value anyway

It was because the reviewer saw composition first and hit that button. Question...if you knew they were soft, Why submit?

Anyway two of the series that were approved though the castle now looks definately OOF. More room for copy allowed
Have used the new script for the crop and it is clearly apparent what looks sharp on my laptop isnt sharp on the forum
Will take on board the advice about cropping too tight and allowing space for copy, thanks

Also approved, more space, and tower looks like its leaning back and soft in focus.
There was a thread recently about this problem about the variance in focus on the forum and how to resolve it, must look it up
