$150m, is a bit too much. Experts estimate that the painting could sell for as much as $80 million.

I've been digging around in my couch cushions and under my car seats, to see if I can scrounge up enough cash to make a bid on that thing. I'm up to $1.27, when is that auction?

EDIT: Just got another DL, so now I can afford to bid $1.63.

Wow, it's hard to imagine having enough to buy it! That being said, IF I did, I'd definitely hang The Card Players on my wall! And then I'd worry about something happening to my $250 investment!! LOL

It ended up selling for $120 million, the most ever paid for an artwork at auction.

I remember it being stolen years ago. When did they recover it?

The artist produced 4 versions, this being the only one in private hands.

I spent a little more than I'd planned - but I have to say it looks very nice up close and any guests taking a poop at my house will have something to look at other than a towel rack.

So, the fluorescent lighting really accentuates the tones well?
