I searched the site but have not found a page to describe the footage technical requirements: min, max length, frame size, max file size, accepted codecs etc. There is information spread across the site but not a single page. Someone from SS should take a few minutes and compile a page with the footage technical requirements. |

Footage
-Footage must be at least 480 pixels in height with an aspect ratio of at least 4:3. We are asking that film clips try and abide by the NTSC standard of 29.97fps (frames per second) with a time limit no longer than 60 seconds. Film clips that are uploaded with the PAL standard of 25fps are also fine.
-Footage must NOT contain any sound bites not produced by the footage producer without a property release from the audio creator.
-Footage should be correctly exposed and in-focus.
-Audio should be seamless [if you include audio].
-Footage submitted should be digital only and we will try to accommodate any file type, including DV, Windows Media, and QuickTime.
-Submitters should NOT submit any footage shot with a digital point and shoot camera.
-Any one batch should contain no more than 20 clips.
-Keep in mind that using a tripod increases the chance that the clip will be accepted.

The general consensus seems to be to export your video as a quicktime movie, using the photoJPG codec at 75-95% quality (never 100%), progressive.
Make sure to render/export your video at the same frame rate as the original footage - if you shoot at 30 fps, export at 30 fps, etc.
If the sound on your video doesn't add to the clip or contains copyrighted music, sounds, etc., be sure to delete the audio prior to exporting. |

According to that 24 fps is not accepted! :))
That info is outdated and incomplete: codecs, containers, biggest file size, are batches still limited to 20 clips? etc. |

I came here to find some specs on video, but now I got to get me a pair of those Supras. That was a savvy marketing ploy, posting that here. |

Yes, the info is VERY outdated. A simple list of accepted frame rates, formats, and codecs would take just a few minutes to post somewhere on the site and would be "REAL NICE"! |

I know that they read the forums but unless something is asked for maybe they don't always act |

Hello,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We are constantly making improvements to our system so we can accept a greater number of files from a variety of sources.
Containers
The containers (or file extensions) we accept are: .avi, .dv, .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .mpg, and .mpeg.
Codecs
We accept a number of video codecs and some of the most popular codecs we support are 8bps, cinepak, h264, Photo-JPEG, Motion-JPEG, PNG, and Prores.
Frame Rates
Acceptable frame rates include 23.97, 24, 25, 29.97, and 30 frames per second.
Minimum | Maximum Lengths
The minimum length is at least five seconds; Maximum length is sixty seconds.
Frame Size
The minimum acceptable frame size is 480px vertical resolution for SD files and 720px for HD.
