It is a protected critter here in Germany...wish I was back in the States where you can shoot almost anything that moves.
I love the News about the two Native American tribes sharing a single reservation squabbling over the rights to shoot Bald Eagles...can't wait until they start shooting at each other over this "right"???? |

It was cloudy as it came over the horizon, took a few shots later but am not sure how good they turned out. |

What's special about it? There's a Full Moon every month (and shouldn't it get a "bad lighting" rejection - "Please do not submit Full Moons lit with on camera flash or with the light directly behind the camera. See the Shutterbuzz lighting tutorial....") |

At some times, the moon is closer to earth hence its bigger appearance, thus you can shoot closer close ups of the moon's surface. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermoon |

Ah, OK, thanks. 12% larger. Isn't that just the difference between using an 18MP sensor and a 20MP one? |

Protected by whom? The German government? If so, tell them there is still some debris left on the moon that needs to be cleaned up. |

Looks like we're having some clouds/heavy haze, too, and I don't really have a good place to shoot it, no clear view. |

I took a pic last night - it is noticeably bigger than the one I took in Jan, but a teleconverter or bigger lens would make more of a difference.
I actually prefer the look of the moon before and after the full moon when it has at least a bit of side-lighting too. |
