Hi all,

I know I am in and I know I critique others, but sometimes I still dont see what the reviewer is seeing. (My acceptance rate has significantly risen for the last several batches tho).

This one was dinged for uneven lighting and LCV - we dont need it now.

I get the LCV, there are many shots of this kind, but I figured since I thought it was good photo I submitted it. I have no issues with it being LCV.

But I dont see the uneven lighting problems. There are small lines of shadows on the right side of the masts, but the photo was taken with the sun in my back, late in the afternoon, I dont see a problem with the lighting other than the shadows, but in this case the shadows give contrast and depth to the masts. Is that the uneven lighting the reviewer is referring to?

Is there no room for shadows at all? I have had 'worse' shots accepted.

Can you please shed some light on this uneven lighting?

Much appreciated.

For a image with open sunny skies like yours, it looks very much over-casted. It should be brighter.

+1. Low contrast. Always think about what the buyer will see on the thumbnail image.

Yes this should be brighter, stretching of histogram in the right. Uneven lighting I think is the dark patches on the top.

Agree with others, it is a bit underexposed.

Also agree it is a tad flat, however the subject matter is also a bit too small. It would be better with some forground interest.

This may help

Morning all,

I see it now. Thanks.

@ aksshutterstock your version is really good. Thanks.

@ Mike N, thanks. I kind of wanted to show the whole farm and included the clouds so show the wind. But maybe I have included too much empty blue sky.

Thanks all, for clearing this up.

Agree. The composition bothers me more than the lighting. They lighting could easily be tweaked, so it was just processing. The subjects are just too small to get any sense of them.

I agree too, I can see the composition issue as explained by and to Mike N, but I didnt fully understand the lighting problem.

Maybe I will crop it and resubmit, I also have other photos from that series, I might have some close ups.

Then again, I think they are not better than already out there.

Doesn't hurt (you) to upload it even if they aren't better. There could be something about your composition that is exactly what a buyer is looking for. Maybe a pano composition or something. Just because Yuri Acurs shot something similar and better doesn't mean I'm not going to upload it! In fact, I'll steal his keywords.

Wait a minute......
Stealing is to remove possession of an object from an individual. Yuri will still have his Keywords after you "Steal" them from him. It would be like someone claiming to steal your car, then you run outside, and guess what, your car is still there! So did they really steal your car? Lol

Makes sense. I will be copying his keywords then ;-)

Maybe it's time to recalibrate your monitor

Why? My monitor shows exactly what it is, too dark. I just made a judgement error.
