So now we have a rover once again on mars in search for the building blocks of life or for life itself.

The last missions were supposedly a failure as they stopped sending transmissions back to earth on what they were recording.

Or was it NASA who purposely disabled the cameras so the general population couldn't see what they saw and or found?

And what do you think will happen if Curiosity should find something? Will they continue to broadcast or will it all of a sudden become broken and NASA will then call the mission aborted due to mechanical failure?

Anyone watch the Movie Apollo 18?

It will make you wonder?

Yep saw the movie, could lead one to believe other than reality depending on how easy once is influenced by things like that. Guess the kid who killed everyone in Aurora was one instance where he was easily swayed into taking revenge for the killing of the joker in the last movie?

Some are easily swayed into believing whatever they want, fundamentalists of every kind no matter what their religious mythical beliefs are.

Some don't believe that man has landed on the moon!

Some, even though there are mountains of scientific data to prove otherwise, continue to believe only in creationism and reject evolution.

Some believe that the powers that be, control everything, these conspiracy theorists have an interesting view of life.

OK, sorry to you Barry if turn this into a creationism vs evolutionism debate, but you opened the door.

The earlier rovers did not fail.
They outlasted their expected duration times, especially Opportunity.

NASA would love to find evidence of life outside our planet.

The Opportunity rover is still operating now after all this time, and still sending info back. It's all on NASA's site, nothing is being hidden. Well, as far as we are being told. I'm not a conspiracy theorist though :)

I can't believe that the conspiracy people believe that they'd send a mission looking for life, then if/when it is found, they don't tell anyone. What would be the point? They'd have been better off not telling us about the mission in the first place. Saying it was just a weather satellite or telescope being launched or something.

Of course, being a time lord, I know all about aliens.
Seriously though, I've been looking forward to this landing. it'll be interesting to see how it goes on and what is discovered, even if it's just geology and proof of water even still there now.

Such a tricky thing though, that landing, so many things to go wrong.

If NASA find something even vaguely lifelike it will be all over the news. How else will they justify $2.5 billion?

Like the moon landing conspiracy, there are too many people involved in the Curiosity mission to keep any mischief or naughtiness quiet for long.

I love a good conspiracy theory but we should at least wait for something questionable to happen before we get too carried away.

If you know the things that the government holds back, then they haven't done a very good job of holding things back.
