My Canon came with an abacus for manual shutter counts.

been running magic lantern on mine. Tells me +101,000, quite a lot actually!

Thinking of getting a new camera soon, think 5D. The question is: Should I get Mk II or III???

I wouldn't want to know the count on my camera because it would scare the heck out of me. I'd rather not know how soon it's going to be a goner...LOL

My D300: 59,161
My husband's D300: 99,046

(no need for fancy software - we name images by the shutter count - ie _HK59161.nef & _GK99046.nef)

Cant tell on my 450D but I shot about 25,000 photos with it.

Nice one it worked on my 50d. I've got 105,004, I bought the camera roughly three years ago which makes it about 95 pictures a day for me. :)
