Hello,
I just took this picture and I tried several different things with it. I applied a filter to it, I personally liked the effect, but I know we aren't supposed to use filters unless it really looks good on the picture. So, I was hoping to get some feedback as to what everyone else thinks of this pick. I'm not sure if the filter should stay or go.

Thanks

This isn't the original picture, but it is a similar one. I had a hard time getting it isolated, I'm still working on it to try and get it improved.

I don't care for stock photoshop filters at all. The original shot is better, though the depth of field is off.

I tend to agree. For complete abstracts, the filters can be quite useful, but as a general rule I think they make your images really cliche or cheesy. I'd reshoot the original with focus on the closest object, and a larger depth of field. Whenever I submit things that aren't *almost* completely sharp from front to back to Shutterstock they're rejected for focus.

Would the company logo need removing for stock. I can certainly make it out. Although I do work for the company, maybe I have an unfair advantage?
