The following was among three shot that was rejected because of "Noise/Grain/Focus/Upsized." All were taken of the newspaper.

100% Crop

No cropping was done. I used an extention tube to get a life size macro which showd the grains of the newspaper.

I'm wondering if this grain the reviewer saw.

A lot of chromatic aberations. Some of which I circled. Nothing to do with the grains. Keep in mind that reviewers are most of the time right in their decisions. Everybody gets rejections.

Is a nice shot though but as a designer I would have preferred another pen.(just personal taste)

A solution I would employ is to open the image in PS, open the hue / sat tool

Select the closest colour, move sat down to -80 , lightness up maybe 20 ish and then slide the colour bar along until the nasties dissapear... Should work well as the image is essentially B&W anyway.

Thanks for the help guys.

I was so focused on the noise/grain/upsize thing that I didn't even see the CA. I'll try fixing in photoshop as suggested.

Thanks again.
