If you are submitting multiple versions of the same clip (i.e HD, SD, PAL, NTSC...) Please note the format in the clip description.

Is there a recommendation to submit in both PAL and NTSC? WIll this make the videos more saleable?

I think I have tried to do this before and encountered the same problem. The spell check catches "NTSC" and "HD" as spelling errors and won't let you submit. The alternate spelling of NTSC is NTSC? :+)

I have question a swell-can i submit a different format later? I have uploaded 1280x720 HDTV format footage and id like to add later PAL-format of the same footage. What i have to keep in mind? Footage's are waiting to be reviewed. can i add different formats now or should i wait until uploaded ones are accepted?

Hi,

I would first wait if the clip gets approved. If yes, take into account that only the full size version of your second clip will have PAL-Format, the mpegs will be converted to NTSC by SS-processing tools.

Adding an additional PAL-clip probably only makes sense if

-your original is 29,97 fps-HDTV and now you add a 25 fps-HDTV-version that is actually recorded with 25 fps, not digitally converted, ´cause frame rate-converting is something an editior most probably would like to do by himself and therefore prefer to buy the original clip. (In this case you should state in the description of the second clip that you used a PAL-Cam or that your cam con do both formats).

-your original is 25 fps-HDTV-format and you want to add a 25 fps-SD clip. This sells in the 99 USD - category with smaller dimensions (720 x 576) but with the original frame rate.

As mentioned in other threads do not convert your footage from one standard to another at all. Let it as it was shot: I mean only the format. Suppose one shoots in PAL, converts to NTSC, uploads both versions, the client finds only the PAL and converts it back to NTSC.

What formats would be recommended to upload then? If I am starting with 29.97 frames per second at 1920x1080i (60i).

I just uploaded two formats. Both had suffixes for ,HD and ,PAL and yet got the PAL rejected with the message "186850 Rejected: 2 versions not needed".

What's going on?

You know when you convert 29.97 to 24 or 25 it doesn't look too bad.... But if you convert 24 to 29.97, it kind of looks bad because your editing program has to manufacture additional frames by blending two frames together, and it doesnt look as good. Sooo I think 29.97 frames is the best frame rate to use if site only let you submit 1 version. :) so yes scott I think that is the best version.

Just had 4 more clips rejected for "additional format not needed". I am offering PAL 16:9 versions for users who may not need, or don't want to spend a premium for the full HD version (all clearly marked in description as either PAL or HD.

So what's the official line here?

Submit multiple formats or not?

Same here. Uploaded HD, NTSC and PAL. NTSC and PAL clips rejected with reason: "don't need more than 1 version".

In the past I sold about the same amount of HD
as SD. So I wonder about this policy. (If there is any?)

I just had a HD clip accepted, but the PAL 16:9 clip rejected.

So let's ask this question again:
CAN WE SUBMIT DIFFERENT FORMATS OF THE SAME CLIP OR NOT?

We need to have official guidance here. I for one have better things to do that waste my time uploading clips for instant rejection.
