Along with the price raise you should also lower the maximum number of downloads but raise the number that they can download at a time, for example if they puchase the 3 month plan let them download 140 a week and no maximum per day so they can download all 140 in one day if they would like they would just not be able to get any for the rest of the week.

At $0.25 per photo I am hesitant to upload more photos because it is not really worth my time to do so. I have tons and tons of photos that I can upload but my time is valuable. At a higher payback rate, I would upload more.
I think that it would be a win-win-situation for everyone. |

Did some number crunching myself. Double the payout and keep the downloads coming .... That works very well for me.
I really appreciate the clarity of the information Jon. And it makes a lot of sense:
.... more money means more equipment, more equipment means more images, more images means more downloads, more downloads means more money ..... |

Even at 25c a download, shutterstock remains my best and favourite site. A raise would be fantastic, thank you John and shutterstock team:) |

well, thru ten days in april, my downloads are off about 5 percent from the first ten days of march and february. sample of one, i know. anyway, this may indicate that the subscription price rise had a relatively small impact on total subscribers and download activity, so there should be some net gain yet at the end of the day for SS to share between its owners and the contributors. fwiw.
===================
update...later same day...
large number of downloads this evening pushed the 10 day total even with March and Feb. So, I have to say that the price rise has not shown any material impact in terms of volume of downloads. Good news, let's see what the site owners decide.

Or maybe they could be off because the first 10 days of April have been a holiday for a large part of the world.
