This is an innocent question. I know we can sort footage by "most popular" but does it mean these footages became 'popular' because they are the most purchased or just because they are the most viewed.

As footage submitters, we all want our clip to be purchased else we will upload them on YouTube ;-p

Knowing informations such as which categories have the most footage purchased and which clips have been purchased will help us to target our buyers.

Thanks!

If one of your clips is purchased you do have the ability to see which clip(s) have been bought. I believe your clips are sorted most popular according to the sales, then views.

So if you have a clip that has been viewed 16 times, and a clip that has been viewed 2 times, yet has sold once it will appear first, before the clip with 16 views. That is to my knowledge how SS "most popular" view works. Please someone correct me if I am wrong. As I would be intrested in knowing as well. Also, I really dont think most stock footage is Youtube material, as it is not specifically made to be entertaining.

If you want to know which of your own clips have sold then simply do the following.

Click on HOME at the top of this page

Then click on Details which takes you to your stats page. One of the columns is for footage sales. Click on the appropriate date for that sale and at the bottom of the page you will see thumbnail of the footage sold.

Or just click on this link and it will take you to your stats page as long as you are logged in.

I want to know which clips from others members have sold.

In fact, every time I review a clip, I like to see statistics such as how many time the clip have been sold or if I browse a category, I would like to see which clips are actually selling the most.

Just view their galleries, with the "most popular" view on. It will show you which of theirs is the most popular/selling the most.
