i have been doing my studying on codecs and files and compression and other what nots!! and came across this site

it has great easy to understand codec info if anyone is interested!! i figured it would be ok to post the site since it's not in any competition with SS but if i did wrong please let me know and i will delete this thread!! thanks

That is indeed a very interesting find, thanks for sharing. :)

It does however only cover the AVI format.

The ones you should look at from this page are
- uncompressed (for comparison)
- MotionJPG
- H.263 / MPEG-4
- NTSC DV (did they cover that?)

The ones you should know about in MOV format are:
- MotionJPG (also called M-JPG)
- Photo-JPG
- DV / DVCPRO
