Hi ,

I've located a new website which is about to get launched. It has a subscription model slightly changed to absorb RF stock buyers from all other agencies , especialy subscription based. The key is that they will pay 50% of the subscriptions to the photographers devided by the percentage of their images downloaded every month. This is a very strong offer to the designers since they can download unlimited images/month. They always pay 50% of the subscriptions so they never risk losing money. I think it's briliant and will probably attract designers who prefare subscription model.

I'm sorry but I can't say any names cause this post is not intended to advertize anyone. Just wanted to you inform about this new business model.

Cheers.

Thats an interesting business model but Im not sure what it will add up to.Im guessing SS pays back more than 50% of what it takes in though and that will kinda suck for the pros to get paid the same as the amateurs based merely on the amount of images in ones gallery.Interesting none the less.......Ron

They're not paid the same .

IF the pro has the 90% of the total download and the amateur 10% , then they're paid those amounts of money from the 50% of the website's profit.

I think I know the model 3pod is referring too. They want images of at least 6 megapixel and keywords have to be submitted in a separtae Excel spreadsheet after the images are ftp'd to the site. Also need to be admitted as a submitting photographer based on a portfolio.

Maybe you can confirm this 3pod - might save you writing some PMs as the filesize will deter some people.

uhm quite interesting this new site, although 6mp is A LOT! that means with my camera, no cropping whatsoever ...... :S maybe I should start considering the markII :), also the quality seems quite high, I bet is gonna be tough, but I like this challenges, they are the ones that make you improve :)
