Zagreb-Belgrade are about 300km away from each other.
There is a freeway if you go by car :) |

Can you give us a approximate cost? I don't mean the traveling or accommodation, but models, studio etc. The reason why I am so interested is that hubby and I go with a motorhome down to Croatia in October, I can try to twist his arm so that we make a "little" detour to Belgrade ... So travel and accommodation would be covered for us but I would have to know the rest of the costs... SY |

As I told previously for models and studios, we have 3 studios, all with Bowens lighting. Two are 100 sqm and one is smaller 40 sqm. Models are from 15-25 Eur/h depends on class, studio is from 25-35 Eur/h and our professional makeup if needed is about 30 Eur per model makeup. But if one day we shoot one model 5 hours or we combine something prices would vary down. So the worst possible situation is 1 hour of shooting is 60 Eur including model and studio. If you want professional makeup add 30 Eur. |

Belgrade sounds an interesting option for me too, however I can hardly make it this year (no budget left and all vacation days already spent or booked). Spring next year could it a better option (also considering weather for outdoor shots).
btw Amsterdam is an excellent photography meet-up place, we had an event (organized via another stock forum) in September last year and it was great :) |

What about Slovenia? Capital city Ljubljana?
You have all you want in a circle of 200km from 2800m high mountains and lakes to sea coast. Ljubljana is in the middle of it with nice old city part.

Just a suggestion.
Greetings from Ljubljana :))

Hi everyone,
I'm Niamh from Brighton, living in Barcelona.
I can recommend Barcelona for a meet. It's got to be one of the most photogenic cities in Europe. The weather is always lovely, even in winter, and the atmosphere is totally inspiring. I'm sure we could come up with some great shots while working our way around the tapas bars!
I would also go for Berlin, which is another really amazing city....and not too pricey, either.
Did I convince anyone?

Being in the UK, flights to almost anywhere in Europe are pretty cheap, but it really needs to be somewhere where bed and/or beer are also cheap.
I'd vote for:
1. Berlin
2. Barcelona
3. Warsaw
Amsterdam is fine but can be a big problem finding a hotel when a big conference is on (eg IBC in mid September - I once stayed in Utrecht and commuted, ok the last train back was at 3am!). Copenhagen is good fun but very expensive - was there last week. To the person who picked up the duty free bag I forgot - jeg haaber at du er vild med salt lakrids.
Lisbon is quite cosy and laid back, very cheap to eat, drink and sleep there. Salt cod, fado and port. mmmm. |

Yeah, yeah, yeah... all that and much more... Where else can you be on the beach in October or November (well, sometimes, and only for those who find 18 to 20º C beach weather, but i bet many of you do) ?
Well, you know, it's a bit marketing, but when you have to compete with lots of people pulling to one side (you serbian guys) you have to get whatever weapons you can.
Jokes apart, it would be very nice for me to host all of you guys here, but any other location would do, as long as it's viable for me. If it's not, no problem. It will be a pity, but what can i do ?
And so you don't think i can only see one side, i must say that Belgrade also has strong points (although for me it's difficult and expensive to get there)... Serbia must have some of the most beautiful girls in Europe...
I think we should put up a vote with all the locations that were mentioned and all of us should vote to see where this will lead us.

Belgrade and Novi Sad are very good places for stockers. All prices are low (if you look EU prices). Miodrag told you about prices of models and studios. If you are interested about beer prices I will tell you. In the bars you can order bottle of beer (1/2 L) from 1 euro to 1,2 euros.
From Serbia is little problem to go in EU. We need lot of papers and documents to get visas. So I say let's be Belgrade and Novi Sad.
Best wishes
