Dear Submitters,

We wanted to give you advanced notice that on Dec 26th, 2007 we will be lowering our footage prices. We have watched the footage/video space carefully over the past two years and have a clear understanding of our customers. The data we've collected has brought us to a more advantageous price structure for our user base--and we feel confident that lowering our prices will lead to increased sales and higher commissions for all of our footage submitters. The prices will change as follows:

$10 Low Resolution (240px)
$30 Standard Definition/PAL/NTSC (480px)
$40 High Definition (720px)
$50 High Definition (1080px)

Our model works on volume at a low price, and this new pricing structure better reflects that. We ask you to trust our research but if you prefer to "wait and see" you are free to opt-out your footage files from sales, and watch the forums. We strongly believe that our footage contributors will earn more money than they did before, and at the same time we'll be improving our value proposition for the customers.

This change will not take place in isolation; it will be supported by new marketing efforts aimed at increasing awareness for Shutterstock Footage as a resource for high quality royalty-free footage clips. We are committed to growing our footage business and are allocating considerable marketing resources to promoting the amazing clips you have contributed to the library.

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and support as we continue to develop and improve Shutterstock Footage. Please contact support@shutterstock.com with any questions.

Yours Truly
