Wow! These are all great! Thanks.

I think many people don't realize what a big difference that a small change can make. Especially a background! It's a good idea to gather different materials as you are out and about and have them on hand.

I agree 100%+
My wifey on the other hand thinks diffrently
Oh well
She uses her closets for Clothes and Shoes, what a waste of space to store Great Props and Background Materials and Camera related stuff I say!

I love the colors and textures and just everything about his shot

Thanks mike. Take lots of sky pics for composites and print some at walmart at 13 x19 of the different seasons. then just tape them up behing a subject.Throw them OOF a bit and Bam. A lot easier than Masking and all that other PS stuff.

This thread is great. I'm thinking about all kinds of different things for backgrounds now.

Well, ok, I guess I have some too. A local interior design business threw away a bunch of their old upholstery material samples and I was more than happy to salvage the stuff. That's what the gingham "table cloth" is here. The rusty thing behind, with the Texas stars, is a door of my neighbor's old wood burning stove.

I used a six meter long wine red organza fabric (not expensive!) as background (on black cotton fabric) and I also wrapped my model in it:

Green inside of a paper shopping bag.

P.S., absolutely brilliant idea of using the photos for backdrops. If designers use our stuff, why the heck don't we take advantage of having free access to our own images? Thank you, Laurin!

Background is another photo. The truck picture was actually taken on a bright blue sky day but I thought the colors on the truck worked better with a sunset.
