Why does SS have to follow other stock site businesses' model in paying contributors? I hope SS has their own model, and I'd like to see the surprise.

Great idea. I really like how these business decisions are thought through and tested. No sense in giving a raise if the business model doesn't support it. Great work SS team! I hope things go well with the new pricing structure!

I still havent reached $500 yet so... any raise tier system will just give me more insentive to try harder!

Thanks in advance SS!

Me too... I hope it's not just for the high earners...I would love the chance to earn more as I learn more, but sooner rather than later!

(could help me get a REAL lens or much needed flash to move forward!)

thanks Jon and team, I know it will be fair, but am I the only one who read the 'points on products' line? Are we going to change to a price structure for size or vector versus photo? Or am I just being a dumb blonde again? :)

I like those 'level' ideas... I also would like to see increase on EL sales...

Good news... Thanks SS!

Thanks shutterstock for a May raise. I can tell you that in the insurance industry companies are figuring ways to reduce commission. It's nice to have a reverse effect.

I hope that this will be a cost effective way for SS to market itself!

Dear Submitters:
This year we will also be experimenting with some "starter" products that offer a less expensive entry point to account holders that have never purchased from us before. These new products will offer a brief trial of our user-friendly subscription model, so the account holder can experience first hand all of the benefits of being a paid Shutterstock customer. We're confident that by doing this we'll convert even more site users into happy -- and actively downloading -- customers.

We're proud that we have the best library in the industry and offer the best products, and we will continue to encourage you, our talented submitters, to submit your outstanding content. Thank you for letting us represent your work.

Almost 50% increase in subscription price so if each level gets 50% more it's all good.
