Last year we had a thread where I compiled a list of the top10 features that we need, the team completed a few (spreadsheets for stats, pagination for download page, search within portfolio)

So, it seemed to work to a certain extent and to have the approval of the admins, so let's drop some ideas in one thread (this one) and i'll do a list again and send it to setho.

0.
First and foremost, someone who answers to our request in this forum

1.
Top one priority would be an API with access to most of the informations.

2.
A view of the gallery with a way to edit, delete, mass delete (and mass edit?) pictures
And have access to stats for individual pictures
(More info: there is no proper way to delete or edit images at the moment, which really makes it a pain..get image ID, go to main page, status of submitted photos, edit image by ID, etc..)

3.
A profile page to which users have access
As well as an optional description space for each photo, where the photographer can link back to collections/series and self-crafted lightboxes (Bascially a field where the user can write some text with UBB formatting)
(More info: The users should have a way to contact us, possibly bookmark the page through the site (kinda like "favorite user"), i mean where is it better to do that than on THE subscription site?)

4.
Auto-categorize

5.
Info about what keyword combination was used to buy the image

6.
Free image of the week not in the weekly top50

7.
Polling system for threads in the forums

8.
A special page that lists EL sales with the buyers name + company ordered chronologically as a list.

9.
Referrals with a gallery should be listen on top of the list with number of sales and $ gained next to the name. Something like that, while the name links back to the gallery (and on the bottom, the total earnings):

Name___________Downloads_______Earnings
John Doe__________1000______________30$
Hillary C.__________2000______________60$
MacGyver__________-_________________-

10.
To be able to order pictures in lightbox like sets and track sales for that particular set, also while browsing the gallery the buyers should be able to check those sets (We already asked for this particular feature many times in the past)

#0. I don't believe that you'd prefer my pretty face to all of the features listed here. ;)
As stated in other threads, Feature Requests aren't being ignored, even if there is no response.

#7. Do you just mean the ability to post polls as threads? Like "Who loves Shutterstock the most?" and the possibility to reply with answers like "A) Me" or "B) Everyone?"

#8 and 9. There are all sorts of reasons why this is problematic. It should be obvious that we cannot give out information about who is purchasing which images. In any case, it's contrary to the nature of royalty-free stock.

It seems like most of the ideas are popular and valid.
They will be reviewed and discussed.

I don't see how #8 and #9 would be problematic,
microstock doesn't mean we don't know who buys the images, i can see how it would be unpractical for regular subscription downloads, but ELs have a special status are bought for a specific reason, not out of the blue like regular downloads.

about #9, i see no reason at all

Would mind explaining it to us?

A good way to edit keywords would be very helpful. Sometimes I think of additional keywords for my images--or discover that a keyword is misspelled--and it's quite a time-consuming adventure to track down the image on the upload page and revise the keywords.

At the moment there is no plan for Shutterstock to reveal the buyer of images. For various reasons--including privacy, legal situations, and our own interests--revealing the company names of the buyer can be problematic. It's not always the case that the artist does not know where his/her stock images are used, but the anonymity of stock should not be surprising to most stock photographers and illustrators.

doppelklick and admins,

I find it shocking, though not surprising that even 2 months after the written request/suggestion none of the ideas have been taken seriously.
I do not mean any disrespect, but are our opinions of no value? How do you treat your submitters? I honestly preferred the attitude of the beginning at least our suggestions were deemed important enough to get an answer.

Some of the ideas weren't from april 2008, most were over 2 years old, and while i have been here 2,5 years, the only thing that changed is that the quick links are now text on the main page as opposed to images on the forum pages...what's that all about?
The stats page also changed a bit, and we have CSV output. that's basically all

As always, this greatly influences my opinion about shutterstock,

Thanks in advance for your answer

Why just a Top 50? Why not a Top 500?
