Hello Everyone! I just got the 60GB iPod to store photos while I'm away on trips. Last year on a photo excursion in Italy I lost about 700 photos due to reying on someone else to burn them on a cd off their laptop. They never did it and I reformatted the card. This year in Italy I used half of a card with images from my Canon 10D and then I put the card in my Nikon Coolpix 5400 and shot some more. I didnt know that the switching of the cameras would mess up all the images. When I got home to unload the images I got a card error and an unaccessible card. So, I got an iPod as a gift. Has anyone used this? How has it been for you? I want to use it to unload the images everyday and clean the cards.
Thanks,
Lisa

I've never used an ipod, but I use a Wolverine for unloading pictures off my CF card and it works fine. Just copy the files off, then clear the card and start shooting again.

got a 40gb Ipod photo, never used it to drop cards onto, but from what i can gather, it needs a adaptor to do this direct, If you intend doing it through a mac or pc, it will normally dump your iphoto library over, but i think it reformats it from the original file types, The way i would use it for storage would be to connect it, and just use it as a HD and copy images over onto it, imsure this works, but you would need to move images from camera to computer first.

Will an ipod photo read RAW files?

If the info on the september issue of Practical Photography is accurate, the iPod photo will only display jpeg, tiff and psd files
