Howdy,

I'm a graphic designer for a state-wide network of churches in southern USA. One image that I'm constantly requested to use in our publications is one of "Jesus".

Now, please note, I'm not trying to start a discussion about religion. Nor do I wish to talk about what Jesus looks like, or which version of Jesus is more accurate. The point of this post is to address a legitimate lack of photos on this subject, and request something be done.

If you do a simple search for "Jesus", the majority of images you find are not of Jesus at all. They are either of churches, people praying, crosses, or statues. All of these are Jesus-related things... but I'm looking for pictures of models. Real people who have the attributes of Jesus: beard, dark hair, fair features, etc. There's a major need for these kinds of images, but I'm having difficulty finding pictures to match.

What I've had to do in the past is create a photoshop composite of various people to create a Jesus-like image.

Anywho, does anyone else agree or notice this? Perhaps there is a photographer who can do something about it? :-)

Yes, I actually have downloaded that one! We may have used it in a publication earlier, but I'm not sure.

What church is that from?

This image is one of the "compost" Jesus' that was done recently.

We needed "Jesus Pointing". It's obvious that the hand is added. But if you look closely, the beard, and some of his hair is also Photoshoped!

This poster was a part of series of "Ye shall be my witnesses" posters. All of which needed an image of Jesus pointing. Since it was so hard to find/create a good picture, we ended up using the same one every year! Grr. it was frustrating.

Oh, I have to give credit to the graphic designer Matt Broom for his most excellent work on this.

I will have a go at this. I have someone who would be a perfect model for Jesus..........mmmmmm lets see if I can persuade him.
