Hi, I am new here. I just uploaded my first 10 photos and maybe I'm going to make something with inkscape, but there is one thing disturbing me:

As I see shutterstock only supports eps files (no svg). I don't know it exactly but I can't imagine that the eps Format supports the blur and other filters from inkscape. But with the blur filter you can make your graphics look very realistic. Can you help me to solve that problem?

Yep you can't use the blur function or opacity. Also you can use gradients but be careful sometimes it can make your file temperamental. But even though you can't use some of the fun things for the EPS, doesn't mean you can't do a high rez JPG version of your project with all those bells n whistles. ;)

Also a good way of checking for colour flaws or other problems in your EPS is to open them up in Photo shop.

If you can't open your EPS up at all in Photo shop, which means there's probably something goofy happening with your EPS file usually relating to the gradients. Try saving a PDF and open up that as usual in PS. There at least you can see what's going goofy and solve it.

Thanks,

I think I will choose the jpg way.
That would be the next point to criticise, because jpeg's have always a quality loss, even by 100% and 1x1 Subsampling. At this adjustment it is not visible and nearly perfect, but anyway if somebody wants to use my image for furter work it is not optimal. Additionally the tiff's will be created from jpeg's. Does it make any sense?

I think you got the tiffs and jpgs the other way around. If you create tiffs, they will be converted to Jpgs.
I think that's how it works. You can check the frequently asked questions.

Oh you can still make vectors, but don't use those blur fx and the opacity. :)

Thanks,

I can't live without blur filter any more. This is just a too important filter. You can make your images very realistic and make a lot of things which were not possible before. I would feel very antiquated beeing not able to use blur and opacity so I decided for exporting it to jpg.
