The kerning and typeface reminds me when fonts are substituted by courier.

It resembles a crescent with a star inside. Or a big C.

Would have thought something looking more like an S or SS would be more reflective.

One thing to consider. Even though the top banner says "for photographers", is that really the case these days? If you look at the threads and see who are complaining about slow sales and who, at the same time, are saying they're getting BDE's, it's the photographers in the former and illustrators in the latter. Also look at the top 50. Without filtering, the bulk is shifting to illustrators. It appears SS may be in the process of shifting to a more neutral logo. One that can encompass both photographers and illustrators. Without exact figures, it's all speculation; but, I would suspect SS is beginning to see a greater return from illustrations as opposed to photographs. Doesn't mean they are going to ignore photographers. Far from it. But it does seem to imply that it behoves them to take greater notice of their largest (or fastest growing) income source. That is all assuming my speculation is correct. And you all know what can happen with the word "assume." IMO.

I'm not crazy about either logo. The old one had obvious problems and really needed to be replaced. First, the strip of film in a digital age was way past obsolete. It also represented only the photography, not the illustration side of the business. The style of the camera drawing looked real 1980s. Font - just weird.

New logo; If the ellipses were meant to be out of kilter, that's okay. But they aren't out of kilter enough, they just look like they were supposed to be perfect but the illustrator messed up. If they were a little more off center no one would be confused by it, it would be obvious that was the intention. However, it wouldn't look like a lens any longer.

Ah well, everyone's a critic.

like the way they are using it to cover more area on previews, maybe it will stop some of the theft. Although it's not yet on all my images, it can be seen on my most popular.

I don't like the new logo that much. It's kind of cool, but what does it have to do with photography? I would have suggest making the new one more with photography. Admittedly, the old one could have been better, but at least I could associate it with shutterstock.

ya... not too impressed. I'm a designer and (not wanting to insult anyone) can't believe it's now the shutterstock logo. Sorry guys!

Whatever!!! I just hope they used the vast resources they have to help design this. Coca Cola hasen't changed in what 75 years.

Well, may not be the perfect one but much better than the old one! Just my personal opinion though.. ;)
