I think the top 50 list helps people with ideas, and know what's really popular. (i.e. if we keep seeing business professionals on top 50 list, then upload business professional shots!)

I was surprised to see one of my photos pop onto the top 50 of all time this week!

117 total downloads so far. This week it's right behind that pesky clock! ;) 18 dl's in the last 7 days.[/img]

Wow, that's a nice shot :) And now we know the number to be in top50 ever! OK, only 108 to go :D

PS: The top 50 weekly list helped encourage me to uplaod the rest of my Japanese Garden photos. Now I'm selling 6 of these shots consistently instead of 2 or 3. (The customer is probably happier as well since they have more 'matching' shots to populate their sites with) And I get 3 to 6 D/L's instead of only 1!

I'm realizing how important it is for some designers to have a "matching set" of photos. I think that sites and letterhead and reports look much better when there are 6 to 20 matching photos across the site / document...

Just a learning that I had that I thought I should pass along.

Is that my pesky clock then? ;-)

Well that has 116 d/l's now and it's not in the top 50 ever (even if I filter out vectors) so I guess the number needed is somewhat higher than 116.

It bugs me when I upload an image, have it downloaded 4 times in one day, expect it to easily make the top 50, but after the first day up in never gets uploaded again. :D

I have a certain image that's made the top 50 a few times and it still gets downloaded daily quite a bit. A little while back i know it definately would have probably been in the top 10 with it's current numbers, but not anymore. You can definately see the growth of Shutterstock in that way by the amount of downloads needed to make the top 50. Even though it's not in the top 50 it's still a great thing:)

Some experiments showed that 13 is not enough to be in top50 of the week. Keep experimenting :D
