Hopefully Stuart's right and the 300D drops in price soon, and Nikon follows with a reduction in the price for the D70 to keep pace. I'd be a happy camper. I think they'd do a lot better if they put the kit at $999 and skipped the rebate, or just made it $50 or make it $100 if you buy the kit AND a flash. I see a lot of people ignore the D70 because they've set their price at $1k and under.

They're great cameras. I agree about the size, the grip was too small for me and my fingers felt cramped and my fingertips were being pinched against the frame unless I really changed my comfortable hand position to. I like a real secure handhold, I got spoiled by my N90 and an F3hp with the motordrive atached. The lower end digital canon's just don't give my fingers enough to grab onto, I image the design of the Eos 1 based line is better but they're out of my price range anyway. The D70 from Nikon is a lot better for my hand but even that isn't as nice a hold as my N90, it's just the best I've found that won't cost me a fortune.

Anyway, have fun, I look forward to browsing the results. :)

Where do I get one of those, but how do you digitize? Do you just wait till the paint dries and scan them in, or does he work in pixels naturally? Oh, and don't you think you should get him a gf? I mean, if they had kids you could make a mint....

I just noticed something, my earlier post seems to have wound up in the wrong thread, I was responding to someone who just got a 20D. That's rather odd.

Sony F717. I'm pretty happy with it, but have some problems with noise, & forget trying to focus on moving subjects!

Same here. I love both my Sonys (I have an F717 and a 5mp cybershot for my purse) and the focus is so sensitive I can't breathe!

Olympus 8080 WZ 28-140 mm Zoom.
Best prosumer camera lens out there. 8 MP censor. Lovely camera.
Not good for sports, action or low light though, but hard to beat at anything else.
Almost everything can be controlled by the photographer.

I use a Pentax PZ1p film camera. Does anyone remember what film is? I use a Tokina 28-70 f2.8 lens for all most everything. 90% of what I have submitted is from Fuji slide film.

Well, come on Harry, give us a link and wow us with the results from film... :-) (I'm actually serious, I still get people telling me film and slide is superior to digital, so I'd love to have a look at some good work...)

Cheers,
Stuart
