That's like asking what kind of word processor Steven King uses, or, the famous question we all get from new non-photographer acquaintances, "What kind of camera do you have?"

What software is used for these?

People have asked Scott this question for years and of course he is not giving the answer. These are unique to Scott so it would not be the best business decision to give out that type of information.

I would guess that it's either

3DS Max or Poser?

But either way I think you're crazy doing this scott but good luck anyway.

Interesting. Will you be willing to sign a "non-compete" and "non disclosure agreement" with the sale? If not, a potential buyer might risk competing against you after the purchase of the collection if you decide to continue to submit.
Also. I expect that you probably know that the potential cost of a company is normally calculated as four times the annual revenue. In your case, this will be hard to calculate because the half-time over four years will lead your sales to drop to something like 20-30 percent of now.

What price are you looking for?

That's one way of measuring it, but as I said before there is another factor - the price of making such a collection from scratch (or even a better one, more suited for current trends .. what ever that might be).
For me your stats and knowledge about the market is worth more than the images. But that's just me. :)

If I were a potential buyer, I'd want it in writing from every major agency that I could re-upload and sell the purchased images. Even if legally it's all on the up-and-up, every agency reserves the right to refuse images for any reason, and some have language in their artist agreements that says you must be the creator if the images you sell.

There's also the issue of reviewers. I'm sure at some point the buyer would come across a reviewer who thinks that they are stealing Scott's images and trying to upload them as their own. There will be a lot of management involved in making sure that the agencies know these images were legally purchased in a legitimate deal, resubmitting rejected images due to reviewer error, possibly even dealing with an account suspension if a reviewer thinks you're uploading someone else's images, etc. All of which can result in lost time and money.

I have sold several "Large" Illustration Collections over the years to various companies.

Apparently he intends to sell the copyrights to a company which would use the images exclusively in-house. In this case, he would remove the images from his micrsotock portfolios. He would also agree not to use the gold man in any new images he creates, I presume.

If this is the case, it renders moot any speculation about the legality of the new owner submitting the images to microstock.
