One of my best friends and also a fellow Shutterstocker, Kippy of Geminai Graphics, has found a contest that I think is perfect for her.

Don't worry, all of you on this list who are business associates ... I'm still with the magazine. :) And I'm still running my freelance company, Geminai.

But a new opportunity has presented itself and I want to give it a whirl! Some of you know, and some of you don't, that I'm a fairly avid blogger, and one of the things I like to do is share positive news stories on my blogs. I've always felt like there's enough negative crap going on in the world today – we're surrounded by it. It's good to be reminded of the positive things and have our faith in humanity restored now and then.

Well, thanks to my attitude and blogging, a friend of mine sent me a link yesterday to a contest for a job. Here's how it works.

This company is looking for someone to blog about positive attitude, good mood type stuff 1x per day, 5 days a week, for 6 months. And there's a paycheck! Well heck, I already do this a lot for free, so why not try for the chance to get paid for it? :)

That said, it's a little odd in that the initial "screening process," if you will, is sort of like a popularity contest. They will take the top 20 vote-getters and those 20 people will be in the actual running for this job.

That's where you come in. :) Voting opened at the beginning of October, so I'm already 2 weeks behind in the voting. But I really want to give this a shot! So I'm asking you to please vote for me. You can vote once per day (although some of my more enthusiastic friends have discovered that if you run different browsers, you can vote once from each browser, or if you have more than one computer in your household, you can vote once from each of them), so if you can stand me hounding you for two weeks, I'm going to send out reminders to have people vote. The reminders will be short and sweet and if you'd rather not get them, you absolutely just have to let me know and I'll make sure to remove you from that reminder list.

It's been a while since I was as excited about a job prospect as I am about this, so your help would be so greatly appreciated! Please, feel free to solicit any of your friends or family or other networks you feel comfortable doing so! I think the point this company is trying to make is that they want to assure that whoever will be blogging for them can bring them a lot of traffic and viewers.

So .. can you help? I sure hope so and I really appreciate it!! Voting is only open 'til October 30th, so I promise not to pester you after that (unless I make the top 20 and another voting opportunity presents itself). Do I have a chance? Not a clue. But I do know that I have absolutely no chance if I don't even try. :)
