I KNEW IT!!! Such a quaint, idyllic scene. ;)

Now, if Dave and Laurin can unclench, we're ready to see some pics from the road (start dramatic intro music now...)

We thought you would get a kick out of that Perry! God we could hardly stop laughing when Katrina was taking the shot! All I could remember thinking was "Why do I let them talk me into these kind of things??" LOL

Anyway, all in good fun.

We had our dinner last night and a good time was had by all. We are getting ready to head into the Valley at dawn to start our first day of shooting. I am sure some shots will be comging soon.

All I want to know is (well may be not) where Laurins pinky is at LOL

First a naked group shot, now this. They are cousins! That's probably why Perry recognized it right away. LOL

Wish I was there! Well, not exactly where that picture was taken and certainly not at that moment but maybe within 20 miles or so.

I really hope we don't have to see pics of either of you in chaps.

Rudy, I won't hit you. I can't reach that far!! LOL

Looks like I'm first in with the Momument Valley News - everybody up at 04:30 to catch the light with wonderful landscapes in every direction - being a black and white kind of guy I caught about 1/3 our number lined up against a barb wire fence composing images on one very impressive rock.

Thanks Paul for putting that one up. I think everyone is pretty tired after this day.

As Paul mentioned we were up at 4:30 and on the road about an hour later to get the sunrise at the entrance to Monument Valley. This part of the Valley is the first impressive sight you see with the monuments known as the Mittens.

It was still pitch black when we got there and the sky was brillantly lit by a multitude of stars. Then, the sun began to rise and and those massive forms started to appear. Many of our group who were from the warmer climates were really enjoying the 32 degree weather :)

After getting those shots we began to go into the valley stopping along the way to get shots of one spectacular sight after another.

After we had lunch we drove out to mile marker 13.1 which for those of you who have seen the movie Forrest Gump this is where he stopped running and decided to return home. After making sure no one would be run over each took theri turn standing in the middle of the road getting that well known shot.

We then went to the place where Paul took the image he posted to get a few shots and then back to Monument valley for the sunset on the Mittens.

After dinner we returned to the hotel and will get up early to hit the road for our tip to Page, Arizona where we will shoot Horseshoe Bend. Then back to Monument valley for some addtional shooting there.

In other news, Katrina is single handedly feeding every stray hungry dog that she runs across. You really have to feel sorry for those dogs whose owners don't seem to care the least little bit for.

Well, time for bed and I am sure that when we get a few spare moments wi will be posting more shots. It has been a great workshop so far and everyone is having a great time.

Not to worry. We enjoy a good joke even if it is at our own expense. It's all in good fun. Yes we are cousins, Laurin is a happily married man to his beautiful Midge and I have my girlfriend back home. We just like to mess with people some time and show our rather fun but sometimes strange sense of humor LOL

And Perry, make sure you take your meds before you head off to bed :)

My laptop is not ideal for editing, so not sure how this really looks.

Excellent stuff everyone! Bryan that shot of Laurin is great! Everyone needs to keep an eye out for a shot that Bryan did of some stacked rocks using a lighting technique he uses. Really great effect!

Nick, great work! You are learning landscape photography very quickly. Great job!
