So what is the most appropriate lens for tabletop photography? I'd prefer a one lens set up that the best I can afford without sacrificing IQ. Sorry. Got lost along the way. I use Nikon by the way and have'nt decided what to buy. I now use an old M42 Mamiya Sekor 55mm/1.8 on a Nikon D40 and D1x. |

I decided to go with 100mm macro IS L. I'm waiting for this new toy to be shipped and hopefully the investment was worth it. Also I sold my Tokina glass !! |

Hi, does anybody know of a 2nd hand camera I can buy? Or where I can buy a new one that is not too expesive? I need a canon/nikon in good condition with a long and short lense. I'm going on a photography course early in next year and I need a decent camera to do the job. Please email me narnaude@gmail.com |

Try adorama, B&H Photo. Both of these stores have used departments. Check ebay, but be careful and ask a lot of questions before you commit to a purchase.
What's the course in and how long? You may want to rent something as well, but it may make more sense to simply buy.
Also, what's your budget? Good quality lenses whether used or new will cost a fair amount of money. |

With a $2000 lens budget, I would go:
Canon 17-55/2.8 IS
Canon 70-200/F4 IS
got them both with my 50d,
covers a wide range,
but as soon as the 24-70 IS arrives
i'll sell the 17-55. |
