Anyway, I am sure that they know what goal is to be achieved and that they are very aware about steps needed to get there. And I see some results of that already ;-) |
I'm sure SS does what is good for SS, but that's not automaticly what is good for it's contributors. |

So if they want particular images on SS and have to go to BS where they possible may not exist.
People buy OD because they don't need or want the monthly subscription and they most likley have found images on SS they want.
SS and the submitter loose. This can only work if they migrate our portfolios to BS.

Can someone confirm that this is indeed the case? Will we get our portfolios migrated? |

If ODs are really gone without any announcement from SS up front, I'm quickly loosing respect to this company, and I always considered it very fair before. Behavior like this fits the FT site better... |

Fantastic, now that you said that we have nothing to worry about ;-) |
@ Dzain too:
Why worry? It is shutterstock!
Anyhow, I am glad this 'test' took US Customers... I am taxed 30% extra on that sales... So I am happy for this.
;-) |
Why would you prefer nothing to 70%? |
It is not nothing... Nothing on SS in this case could be $10 on other place if you understand... Buyers who want your or my images will find them on other place as it is BSP... |

I’m very confused, and disappointed. After “BSP bought SS”, SS started to send buyers to BSP.
If you are going to do that (remove OD and send buyers to BSP) it would be fair to clone our portfolios to BSP. |

Can anybody give me the link of that forum where all stock issues can be discussed freely? I'm afraid I'm gonna say something on this forum that will result in an other warning when I'm not able to vent somewhere. |

For those who haven't the time to read through the last 9 pages of posts, here's a quick summary as misunderstandings are developing
Shutterstock has stated that it has withdrawn temporarily OD's from a 'small subset' of its clients, as a test. Previous posters suggest that that small subset are the english language SS websites.
One of us called the SS helpline and asked for OD's and was directed to the BSP website.
Several people have requested that our ports be migrated onto BSP.
We are now waiting for SS management to clarify where this is leading, as this is presumably an interim situation, while SS figure out how to integrate BSP and SS business. |

OMG.. Banging my head against the wall.......
The point is OD's are not like they use to be and people are getting less to none now. SS took the plan away from the English territories. Customers can not purchase the plan in that territory which I would say is 80% of OD's.....Gone, Zilt, None, Bye Bye. Did I mention Gone! |

Add to that that many foreign buyers use the site in english (because the translations are 'mediocre' to put it with an understatement). This means not only the english territories are affected.
I have this bad vision in my head of a buyers wanting to buy a new OD-plan, but instead he sees a notice 'please turn to Bigstock for OD-plans' (without prior communication about this!). He goes to check it out, sees a database not even close to this one and just runs of, shopping for another site.
Dear SS, what are you doing here :( |

Your not the only one worried. This would work if the libraries on both sites were identical. But they are far from that.
