OMG.. Banging my head against the wall.......
The point is OD's are not like they use to be and people are getting less to none now. SS took the plan away from the English territories. Customers can not purchase the plan in that territory which I would say is 80% of OD's.....Gone, Zilt, None, Bye Bye. Did I mention Gone! |
I think that you might have mentioned gone :-)
I am trying to explain about this (not that it's my job to). But apparently the message doesn't seem to be sinking in across the community.
Add to the problem that the BSP site appears to be broken right now, and that for at least 48 hours.

True, seems people are just not getting this issue or they get one OD from an old purchase and they think things are just fine. |

Yes you're right Shevs, it's working me too now. Although it wasn't for me when I checked a few hours ago. There was a problem when I clicked on images to buy them, there was just an empty white box. |

I have this bad vision in my head of a buyers wanting to buy a new OD-plan, but instead he sees a notice 'please turn to Bigstock for OD-plans' (without prior communication about this!). He goes to check it out, sees a database not even close to this one and just runs of, shopping for another site.
Dear SS, what are you doing here :( |
I prefer customers running to DT or FT when they can't buy it at SS anymore. Hope this SS/BS thing will be RIP soon! |

I am not at all happy about this.... so disappointing as the On Demands play a large part in my income here at Shutterstock and I am not with BS.
If the Images which are here are made available over at BS this would at least help however I have no intention of manually uploading my Portfolio over there and am now thinking for the first time that going Exclusive at you know where ;) is something I should be considering which is a shame as SS has always been my fav site |

And also:
For one OD here i get $1.07 or $2.48
On BSP per sale i get $0.50 to $1.50...even 'if' our entire portfolios are transferred there and even 'if' all OD buyers go there we still lose out on a lot of money. |

it seems like most people are getting used to OD's disappearing :-(
I used to get them regularly. Even with a reasonable port on BP, I haven't had a single upload there for over a month, never mind something resembling an OD. Indeed since the acquisition my BP sales have slid markedly.
If my situation is typical, then we are all losing out:- shutterstock, and photographers alike.
So where is the upside resulting from this decision to suppress OD's? Would anyone in the know like to comment? |

I can't believe that there is no out cry amoung users. I don't want to loose 20% of my sales. |

That wonders me too! I understand we cannot speak freely here, but on that other forum only few people are worried about this and the removing of car images. |

Does this affect the video side too? I can't find anything there that talks about this. |

Hoping this is just a diabolic coincidence, but mine have stopped completely.
I have them about every day, and never went longer than 3 days without one in the past months....november, no OD so far despite good download numbers :( |
