Been playing around with Photomatix (trial version) the last few weeks. I'm quite impressed with what it allows you to do and with the resulting images (with a few provisos). It is however a bit costly. Is anyone aware of either a plug-in for GIMP or other "freeware" version that does the equivalent? Thanks for any input.

I can't vouch for this free open source hdr software, but I might download it.
Thank you for this information. I will check it out.

Google "Photomatix coupon code". You can usually find a code to enter when you purchase it that'll give you $15 or so off, netting it down to around $85.

I really like photomatix and the qtpsfgui could never give me proper results of what I was really looking for. I never worked with easyHDR, but it looks pretty good.
