Came across an older picture of mine, when I didn't even know what stock is ..

tell me if it is worth composition-wise so that I try to get the MR.

I am not uploading the 100% crop because I am interested in the composition.

Thank you

I agree with Laurin, although the horizon is dead center, (typically a no-no), it seems to work OK, as there is the second horizontal at the transition from water to sand, which is closer to the rule of thirds, and the diagonal of the girls lower legs mimiking the diagonal of the rock outcrop, so while it breaks some of the rules it does still seem to work nicely. Hope it is not too soft for you as this would be nice one !

Would also have been better if the sun was at a lower angle (earlier morning or later afternoon).

There's a horizon in that picture?!

Seriously, there is a rock that looks like a big foot that bothers me. This is probably because the rock is close to the models feet and because of the angle of the sun. If photographed from the same spot at another time of day and this rock might not look like a foot. My point is that when you see something like that rock either try to hide it or play it up. Try to make a humorous image by placing the model so the rock looks like it is one of her feet. Whenever you can find repeating patterns, man made, in nature or a combination of both you have hit the jackpot.

You could crop the sky a little and move the horizon up, away from the center.

ok guys,

I will crop the sky a little, it is obviously better and I will post a 100% crop to check the focus.

As of the "foot" issue, frankly speaking, if you wouldn't have mentioned it I would not have noticed it. But as I said, it is a picture I made when I just got my first DSLR and didn't even know what stock is. You might have noticed I shot it at f-stop 4.5 and a shutter speed of 1250. Now, of course I would do it waaay differently.

appreciate your help my friends

I reprocessed the image.. tell me what you think now please... how does the focus look to you ?

I know it does not seem like a 100% crop, but it is.

seeing this closeup I get the impression she's hiding from the camera and not the sun....

And the hat doesn't fit the image, if you're going for the perfect shot, go with something a woman is "expected" to wear, not an old red cap, some retired baseball player pulled out of his closet.

Not meant to be a snub...just the honest impression the close-up gives me.

Nice tan though. I don't know..Maybe I've seen it to many times. It kinda just lays there. [No pun Intended]

you are so right, about the cap and everything.. if I would have done this shot now.. I would have changed a lot, but it is a picture I took a long time ago and faaaar away from home and at that time all I knew about the DSLR is pressing the release button. I just somehow liked it when i came across it now.. by far not perfect and that's why I decided to ask

Appreciate your honesty, that is truly important in order to grow, isn't it..?

Truly the tan is appealing ;) but you're right, there are probably a lot of better shots of this kind.
