Did you see the body which have been tied at arm and draged by boat?
Take a look at that, what are you feeling? Imagining what are Family of the deceased feeling when they see this scene?
Remember, this person sacrifice his life for saving another child, but now, his body become a very expensive merchandise.
what is a real Tragedy? Drowning or this "business scene" happened?
By the way, what are you feeling the dog showing guy?

Horrifying, lets hope we get together to erase these scenes all over the world.
Thanks for speaking out about your heartbreak and outrage from your country. Actions like this go on indefinitely if never confronted.

Well said, but this guy is shameless. He just doesn't get it, he did the same insensitive pimping thing last week on Zdenka's thread. |
Maybe someone can suggest a psychologist. |

Do you have any idea how many cheap Chinese irons being sold to world every year? According to your "statistics", the customers killed by Chinese irons will be more than the casualty of WWII.
The killing is so effective, and it's driving all the armmo makers crazy. Is that true?
Actually, there is a way to stay out of being judgemental, which is not to rush any judgement. This is a free advice from shameful Chinese Iron Killer. |

Yes Susan, my heart was so break when this event happend at my country. If I Drowning, would rather dead at Pacific, Drift to Atlantic, Rot at Arctic, not let my family to see this horrify scene.
So many similar cases happened recenly, total was ruining the Humanity of Citizens, We got nothing except money at future.
To local governor, nothing we expect, might be the benefit sharer from the fee of Salvage, though there are no strong evidence to prove now, but that was common awareness for Civilian.

I think things will change for the better in your country though communication on the internet to the world about what is happening, your desire for a better society and a new found strength in standing together to demand change.
Do not give up... work together to make it happen one way or another. The world is listening and we are not blind to your challenges, we hear your pain and we do care!
Hugs and love to both of you! |

I completely agree with Susan.
It reminded me of the old saying about bamboo (I can't remember the proper wording)- one stick of bamboo is easy to break, but to break a bunch of bamboo is almost impossible. ;D |

Yeah, but it's not electrocution only, I saw a report about a french company testing their fuse and several chinese counterfeits (of their own products - they even fake the laser markings)
Their product handled the overload as expected, one of the other did too, two bursted in flames and a fourth one exploded
The flames could definitely ignite a fire and kill a family in their sleep
10% is bullshit of course, otherwise it would be the most effective legal weapon :p |
Two points:
a) the initial post on this specified electrocution, this is presumably "received wisdom" in that part of Greece, so fire risk is not really relevant.
b) US stats (the easiest to find on the net) show 3,000 deaths annually in house fires but fewer than 5% of those were caused by electrical goods (that's less than 150 in a population of 300 million). Smoking accounts for almost 8% and suspected arson for 12%.
It appears that 80% of electrical goods imported into the US are manufactured in China, so every house must have plenty of them, yet Americans have not all been electrocuted or burned to death.
There is also a difference between counterfeit goods, which presumably evade official quality checks, and Chinese own-brand or licensed goods which presumably do have to comply with quality control laws.
Qatar has a major problem with electrical fakes - the country is swamped with them according to the government, which is now clamping down - but even so there are hardly any electrical fires or cases of electrocution out here. Fakes are bad but the paranoia about them is driven by manufacturers whose businesses they hurt.
Sorry to go so far off topic but the 10% claim just seems xenophobic. |

I hear you David... lets just say they are void of the human traits I value.
In every society there are those who do not have a moral compass. They simply do not have a conscience. We call them sociopaths! They are capable of much greater social harm than those with the capacity for empathy and compassion.
Inside the Mind of a Sociopath
http://www.cix.co.uk/~klockstone/spath.htm
Excerpt from: The Sociopath Next Door: The Ruthless vs. the Rest of Us by Martha Stout Ph.D.
"Imagine - if you can - not having a conscience, none at all, no feelings of guilt or remorse no matter what you do, no limiting sense of concern of the well-being of strangers, friends, or even family members.
Imagine no struggles with shame, not a single one in your whole life, no matter what kind of selfish, lazy, harmful, or immoral action you had taken. And pretend that the concept of responsibility is unknown to you, except as a burden others seem to accept without question, like gullible fools.
Now add to this strange fantasy the ability to conceal from other people that your psychological makeup is radically different from theirs. Since everyone simply assumes that conscience is universal among human beings, hiding the fact that you are conscience-free is nearly effortless.
You are not held back from any of your desires by guilt or shame, and you are never confronted by others for your cold-bloodedness. The ice water in your veins is so bizarre, so completely outside of their personal experience that they seldom even guess at your condition.
In other words, you are completely free of internal restraints, and your unhampered liberty to do just as you please, with no pangs of conscience, is conveniently invisible to the world. You can do anything at all, and still your strange advantage over the majority of people, who are kept in line by their consciences, will most likely remain undiscovered." |
I don't intend to offend you Susan nor your values, but I couldn't pass it by without talking about it.
First lets just get one thing straight, I have no doubt I would jump into water to save a kid if I saw it happen, and it was happening on a river or somewhere I knew I had good chances of surviving, I'm also pretty sure I wouldn't jump into high sea tough (actually I don't know it until it happens...). So moving on to what I wanted to say.
Sociopaths are everywhere. Actually they probably run most important sectors of our societies, that's why they got into those positions.
But I think you're making a mistake when you separate them from the rest of the mankind, sociopaths as you categorized maybe are only different in the way they have taken that philosophy to the extreme.
This may not be pleasant to hear, but, lets say, if you know your way of life is the cause of millions of starving people over the world, that every single aspect of your life (the prices you pay for your TV, your house, your clothing, food, electronic gadgets, cameras, cellphone, beauty products, shampoo, books, your kids toys, your loan, education, and every other commodity of your life) condemns half world (and growing) to be "enslaved" so you can have that style of life, then aren't you just a sociopath without the will to assume it to the full extent? Isn't having a consciousness for good deeds only a mask for the beast that lives inside of you? Or for the utter void that creeps and that we try to fill with love and empathy and good deeds? But... What would you do? Suicide? That's not an answer. Turn into an hermit? Maybe the most reasonable thing to do would be dive into yourself, just to find out that no one is innocent, nor me, nor you, nor the next one, and from there let go of fear.
I do believe in Love. True Love. But true Love means loving each and every aspect of the existing, the bad, and the good, the humane, and the inhumane, doesn't it? Unconditional love, without any condition. B/c if everything ought to be perfect, well then, life would be valueless right? A children smile wouldn't matter at all, if there wasn't a children tear somewhere else. We humans, wouldn't give it any value, b/c we wouldn't have anything to compare it against...

Indeed... And you know something that's also been discussed in psychology? That one can't see on another, something they haven't seen inside themselves first.
Hope you don't find my comment rude. I just wanted to discuss that topic, as I find it very interesting.[/b] |

Of course we are talking about extremes in the context of the original discussion... the extreme being a person who would willingly stand by on a boat meters away and watch someone beg for help and drown without throwing them a lifeline. Then take advantage of the persons family for financial gain.
For those who are truly sociopaths I don't believe it is a philosophy or choice... they are hard wired that way.
Interesting... It is a long leap from talking to someone who is genuinely very upset about the loss of someone who tried to make the world a better place to discussing your perceived or aggressing interest in my own value system.
You might be surprised at how I have chosen to live my life or how I view the world. I would be happy to discuss views with someone who is genuinely interested.
However based on the numerous invalidating judgments and innuendo that you detailed in your response... I very much doubt that would be the case.
Hopefully this post will not bring yet more pain for the originator of this thread. If it does I offer my sincere apologies! |
