Stockings get hung up on Christmas eve (and are filled with little fun things when children are asleep). They are emptied on Christmas morning (often very early!).

Presents under the tree are opened after Christmas dinner when the family is all together- usually about 3.00

This is how its been done since I was a little lad over here.

Opening presents on xmas eve would feel like opening my birthday presents on the night before my birthday.

Xmas morning 6am with coffee and 26 grandchildren

Oh my! That would be a great stock shot...

That's what usually happens, but 11 won't be with us,this coming xmas-5 will be in Australia, and 6 will be scattered around New zealand with other relatives....Ken

Hmmm... 15 kids and grandpa is more than enough for my taste. You have to have a really big tree to fit all the presents under it. And thinking about the wrapping paper mess afterward gives me a headache :)) Congrats on such a big family!
