Also, make sure to delete all clipping paths within the group (have a look at the layers palette in order to find them - if there's a dark circle besides the group, there are some in), because they can cause trouble whith eps ai8 and especially, if you/the buyer wants to change the object's colors later on.

But are not clipping paths allowed? Maybe I confuse them with clipping masks ...?

Though I'm no real newbie, I thought this would be the appropriate place to ask.

I normally outline any text in vectors, but since I am currently making a website layout to sell in here, I would like my font to remain editable for the users. The font in question has an open license (Ubuntu). I guess they would refuse such a file anyway...right?

(Too bad, people would be getting a kind of 'crippled' source file without the font, or at least it would be less useful.)

Yeah you'd get a rejection to turn your type into outlines.

I don't know of any way to embed it into the file without it getting rejected.

Hello,

I'm wondering how I attribute silhouettes here? Do I upload the source material as a model release?

Thanks!

I don't think they require that. Just make sure your silhouettes are original and detailed, because there are about a gazillion silhouettes in the vector library.

Thanks! So as long as the file source is my own, I don't have to show any proof? I just want to make sure because I'm working on some files for my first set of vectors to upload. I appreciate your help!

No proof required on silhouettes as far as I know, but you could provide the source if you're unsure about it. Better safe than sorry. Regarding the millions of silhouettes in the library, I'd be sure to research what I'm drawing to be sure its different and original. Personally I gave up on silhouettes a long time ago because there isn't anything new under the sun and I kept getting rejected for "too many on site." Several other agencies did the same thing so I draw other stuff now.

Sounds good. I'm using a silhouette in the context of a more complex illustration so it hopefully won't get rejected for "too many on site". It should be fairly unique when I get through creating it. Thanks again for your helpful responses!

Hi
This thread is so useful, thanks.

I just wanted to ask if there's someone on here that might be willing to do a similar thread for us Inkscape user's? It would be so helpful. So much of what is passable in AI isn't ok or simply doesn't relate in Inkscape (am finding that one out the hard way). I don't have enough knowledge to do it, but I'd be willing to help wherever possible.
thx
