#1 is too soft for me, and I'm sure I can see artifacts in that one too, on it's chest. It's the sort of effect you can sometimes get if you've had to beef up the shadow, for example if you were to take an image with not much in they way of shadow and do Auto levels.
#2 would have been a great image, it certainly caught my eye, but those little purple flecks of noise spoil it for me. Also, maybe a minor point, but something to watch out for when going so close in, I can make out the reflection of a person at a table or lying on the floor with a window/door behind, kind of detracts from the image. I know that's easier said than done and usually you don't see the reflection until you open up the file large. It's not that I think reflections in eyes is bad, just depends what its of. |

Just got the batch reviwed tonight and heres the results.

Rejected

I had upsized the second photo and they rejected for that reason. Cant sneak anything by those reviewers...:o)
I think number two would have been accepted but it was a crop and slighty to small so I upsized it a bit, If it was large enough I think it would have made it to. Now I get to see how they sell!
