I haven't gone into the model market yet but I am planning to do so this summer when we have better light. The phrase used by my uncle who was a pro. was "prints for time" and most of the girls here in England understand what that means. The fee they charge for a pro shoot is about £500 but then the girl gets the copyright. They expect at least 6 pro prints for a session but I think today they would prefer a CD because most of them use the internet.
I think you need a model release for the session.
One problem that
you may come across is the girls putting too big a picture on the internet which will then be stolen. I think this could be best avoided by adding a clause about size to the model release, or even producing a CD for print and a CD for the internet, with your name embedded on it.

I give them two sizes, one very small but within the limits most modeling sites set and perfect for emailing as well. and the other is full size.

Exactly where do you go to find the models?

Or do you post as a photographer looking for models? And if so, what category?

Thanks for your help.

OMP is the biggest right now. But some people dont like the way it is run. Its $10 a year for a basic photog portfolio. free for models. can have special "showcase images" status with portfolio of silver or higher.

MuseCube is another popular one that just went to pay for photogs, $36 a year. free for models. MC is less strict on the forums (much like ss) but it has become a rant/bitch zone as of recent (especilly with the new pay to play policy). Its nice because you can post a work listing in your state for models to see and respond to. Or you can search work listings and find models activly seeking a shoot.

there are many other ones out there, but those are the two main ones.

my ports:
OMP 113679
and MC
I only have the basic membership on both.

with good quality images, and a professinal attitute its not hard to find models.

you can also ask friends to pose for you. Some of my images on ss are of my friend alicia, she had never modeled before but it turned out very well.

amature models online are a good place to start as well and help bulid your portfolio up. so if they only have crappy webcam images or something they might be more willing to do a shoot with some one who doesnt have many people pics in their port.

if anyone has any questions feel free to ask here or pm me as I have been busy recently (had a promo job last week and a couple models over the weekend, setting up a shooting party for next month) and I will awnser.
