I submitted stuff on the weekend and it was not approved within 5 hours....but has been acceapted by many other stock sites. I thought they worked only on the week...or is it who we are connected to or what...i just dont understand. |

Being accepted by other stock sites does not open the door here. |

As already mentioned the reviewers here at Shutterstock review images 7 days a week. Also different stock sites have different standards as far as what they accept. Some stock sites do not even have reviewers and will accept any image.
To be accepted here at Shutterstock you need to have technically correct images that have good commercial value.
We always suggest that before submitting your images for review for your first ten to post them in the critique forum so we can take a look and give you some suggestions. You should do that with the ones that were rejected here so we can help.

I submitted a new vector at 4:00am this morning, went to bed for a few hours, and woke up at 10:00am to find my image was approved.
Nice work SS reviewers! It's not just 7 days, but I guess 24 hrs/day. |

Very often, the review of the initial 10 images, as in your case, occurs a lot faster than the review of images submitted AFTER acceptance.
All of us are very happy with the quick review times at SS compared to the apparent "flurry of inactivity" among reviewers at most other sites. |

My second attempt at a first batch of pictures was approved in two and half hours today. This is way faster than anywhere else I've tried. |
