I'm creating this thread due to the lots of interest I've seen recently in how to post an image from shutterstock here in the easiest way possible. I know how to do this easily from Firefox, users of other browsers please feel free to chime in. I think the only step that should change from browser to browser is step 5.
1) Choose the image that you want to include by clicking on the thumbnail. My choosen image is http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-31147297-stock-photo-jumping-cholla-cactus-framed-between-two-lobes-of-mountains.html
2) Copy the URL of the image as displayed at the top of the URL bar. The URL for my image is as above.
3) Click on the form that you want to post your image. Hit the appropriate reply/new topic button.
4) Start typing the following code, while replacing PASTE_URL_CODE_HERE with the URL you have previously copied.
| Code: | | [url=PASTE_URL_HERE] |
5) Copy the image location. This can be done by right clicking and choosing the "Copy Image Location" button. It should look something like http://thumb15.shutterstock.com.edgesuite.net/photos/display_pic_with_logo/380785/380785,1243697313,4.jpg , and not like http://www.shutterstock.com/subscribe.mhtml (The latter is if you hit copy link location, I frequently make that mistake...)
6) Go back to the window you were wanting to place the image, and continue the code written in step 4). Paste the image location copied in step 5 instead of COPY_IMAGE_URL_HERE
| Code: | | [url=PASTE_URL_HERE][img]COPY_IMAGE_URL_HERE[/img][/url] |
And you're all set. Here's my full example with the appropriate code marked.
| Code: | | [url=http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-31147297-stock-photo-jumping-cholla-cactus-framed-between-two-lobes-of-mountains.html][img]http://thumb15.shutterstock.com.edgesuite.net/photos/display_pic_with_logo/380785/380785,1243697313,4.jpg[/img][/url] |

Yes, the easiest way is as Vince (vlclements) says:
Go to the image you want, right click and choose "Copy Image Location".
Then go to the thread you're in, hit the "Img" button, then "paste" (or Cmd or Ctrl V), then "Img" button again and you're done. Voila!

That will let you post the image, true enough. But if you want someone to be able to click on the image for whatever reason, it's best to do it as I indicated. Another common way is to simply post the URL below the image, but I find it's easier to click on the image itself, it follows more normal web stuff. |

Try this. I make sure that I click on preview before I click on submit to make sure it works.
Open the image you want to post from your (or another) portfolio. Right click on it and click on Properties then copy the location information. Place your cursor in the post text field and click on the Img icon which is just about the text window. Place your cursor just to the right of the Img tag and paste the location information. Click on Preview to make sure it worked right and if so click on submit. |
